Cursory look at documents. No official interview. Asked for more documents. Received documents and immediately denied with no further interview. Longstanding relationship with reams of proof. Official documentation from embassy employee sloppily done, as if it was an afterthought. Very unprofessional appearance of officer and seemingly cavalier attitude about a family's important petition.

All went really smoothly and quick, just as the whole K1 process..Even tho i spend little more than 2h in the embassy, the actual interview was really easy and quick. Lot of fast questions, but the officer was super nice and friendly. Easy to talk to. Waiting process is long but my interview took like 3-5 minutes.
First you go to Serbian officer ,give him original papers you brought, and sit back and wait... After it you go to lady officer who takes your fingerprints...again waiting...later on,you go to pay the fee... which was 28000dinara or 265dollars... and last is talking to officer in English who ask you next questions...
Like,How old is my fiance, who asked who to come and visit, what she do in America, how we met, which car does she drives if i know, with whom does she lives, what my family think of her, what am i planning to do in America, how long do we talk on the phone....nothing too complicated. He said he reviewed our applications, everything looks nice and real to him,h... read complete review

My interview was scheduled at 10:15am. From other VJ member I've heard it's ok to come early so that's what I did. Was in front of the consulate at 9am with my fiance (sent an email day earlier to the embassy that he'll be accompanying me).
We were greeted by the first employee who checked our names on the list, looked at our passports and did a quick security check. Then we've been sent to the first building where we went thru second security and then escorted outside to enter the main building. There was an embassy employee on every step to direct us further on. In the main building we were greeted by the nice lady who checked our names on the list and gave us our number. We sat in the waiting area and chatted with another VJ members for a bit until we were called to the counter 9. Gentleman that worked there was really nice and polite, he asked for my number and passport, he then stepped back for a minute and returned to tell us they gave us the wrong number and to go back to... read complete review

Everybody was so nice and so polite, amazing people work in this Embassy.
Everything was explained in a nice and a polite way. The wait time was at a minimum.

In general the Embassy is rly good and proffesional and the people are really nice that work there.

Our first comment is that if you have been married for more than two years, do not assume that it will be easier to complete the interview process. In fact, it seemed ours was more difficult and our only theory is because we would be issued a 10-year immigrant visa (rather than a 2-year). Our marriage seemed to be more scrutinized because we waited so long to file. Our reasoning was completely legitimate but we had to take extra time and provide additional documentation to prove this.

Secondly, some of the embassy workers are only working there because a family member or connection got them the high paying job - and their lack of skills prove it. They have no concern for your issues and while they make more money than by typical Serbian standards, it is almost as though they resent you for being able to go to the U.S. The worker checking us in tried to send us away saying we didn't have an appointment. This was because the appointment sheets were stuck together - from hi... read complete review
