I am engaged to my fiancee who is a Liberian living in Mali. He had an interview for the K1 visa in July of 2007 but was told he did not have enough evidence of a relationship(he brought with him photos, emails, ecards, letters, cards, western union receipts etc). His case was sent to eligibility review unit for a long time and now he is scheduled for another interview May 27. We do have an experienced immigration attorney to guide us through this and hopefully everything will come out right in the end.

My wife's experience at the embassy in Senegal has shown just how ridiculous is government's rigidity around "following procedure" regardless of the circumstances.
My wife arrived in Dakar from Sierra Leone the Sunday before her Thursday interview. Monday morning she went for her medical exam with Dr. Djoneidi, who was very professional. She was told the next day that the lab was unable to process any HIV/AIDS test results, since its materials had run out and they were awaiting a shipment from Germany.

So it's the following Monday, and she checks again with the doctor, who tells her that the lab is still unable to process the results, and the shipment is not expected until Friday. When asked whe... read complete review

Hello all
Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts. God Answered your prayers this morning. My wife's visa was approved today at the US embassy in Dakar, Senegal. I was a little quite for a while and I apologise for that. I was just going by my culture, "NEVER TO REVEAL AN UPCOMING IMPORTANT EVENT UNTIL IT OCCURS. This may be a little backward but I believe in it.
Any ways a little detail. Her interview was actually on Tues, March 20. I went with her to the embassy at 7:00 for a 7:30AM appointment, well prepared with albums e-mails and tonnes of phone records, letters, greeting cards and days of practicing questions downloaded from VJ. Just like the usual procedure we came after many, but the moment I show them my US passport they told me to bring all her documents to the front, thus making her the first to called. Then a long wait may be one hour. Our number was called, 301 and we went to the window, met this Senegalese lady who was really nice. she brought out m... read complete review

Went smooth, because we were prepared and had more than enough evidence needed. Long wait before interview but well worth it!
