This is a difficult review to write. I wish I could give two ratings, instead of just one. If you read through my posts on VJ you'll understand the reason for this.
The initial processing at the consulate was top-notch. Everyone was friendly, and the interview and paperwork went very smoothly. Natasha even accidentally left her x-ray envelope in the building, and they allowed her to re-enter so she could find and retrieve it. Let's call this portion of our experience a 5=Best rating.
Then the nightmare started. We didn't receive the visa until 16 days after the interview. Dealing with the consulate during this period was simply horrible. Every call we placed to the consulate for the first 10 days received a reply of 'your visas have been approved and are being printed - you should have them in 2 or 3 days'. Plus, you have to pay $13 a call (in pairs, since all they do during the first call is take down your question - you have to call back for the... read complete review

Interview: Went smooth. CO was pleasant male. Questions: What will you do in USA? Did you know he was married? How many times? Does he have any children? How many? How old? What is his job? What is that exactly? How old is he? Where does he live? How did you meet? When did you meet? How many times did he visit you in Russia? What dates? When did you get engaged? Did he meet with you parents? She was then told that all papers are in order and she will receive visa within a few days.

Before the actual interview, there is someone at the window who collects your visa documents and affidavits. The person (foreign national) at the window collecting the documents was very rude and not very helpful. The interview was much more pleasant and nice.

I just received a phone call from a very happy Natalia, exiting the Moscow Consulate, saying that the visa was approved for her and her 17-year-old son Artem.
They arrived at the Moscow Consulate at 7:30 AM. There was virtually no waiting as they arrived a little early.
The interview took approximately 5 minutes and consisted of 3 questions. For those that are interested, here are the questions:
Q1. How did you meet? [Answer: Natalia explained how we met.]
Q2. You have a very high position here in Russia. (Natalia is the head of the legal department for a large company). It is unlikely that your work in the USA will be at such a high level. How do you feel about that and what do you plan to do for work after you arrive in America? [Answer: Natalia honestly replied that are already people wishing to interview her in the USA after she arrives given her expertise in Russian trade and tax law. Finding decent work in the USA sh... read complete review
