It was simple and painless. They asked her if she wanted to speak in English or Russian. She said Russian, but answered the questions in English; so they switched to English.

They asked to see some photos, read a few pages of our ICQ chats and that was that.

My fiancee had taken an earlier trip to Moscow for the medical exam and to get her DHL mailer. So for the interview, she simply took the overnight train to Moscow from St. Petersburg, went to her interview, was approved, and hopped on the train back that afternoon and was back in St. Petersburg within 24 hours of leaving. Very simple.

Horrible. CO was rude and demeaning. Criticized fiancee's (non-USC) English and character. Only gave 1 instead of 0 because the visa was issued.

She said it was pretty quick and simple. Only questions that were asked were... "tell me about your fiancee", "How many times have you met inperson" and "what does he do for a living" then she asked to see some pictures and my IRS transcripts. That was it! She said to her "congratulations" and the whole interview took maybe 3 minutes. anti-climactic end to our visajourney.

Galima went to the Consulate this morning and had to wait less than one hour. The entire visit was very efficient and the Consulate Officer was very friendly. She looked over the paperwork quickly and asked only a few very casual questions. The interview lasted only about 7 minutes, then she was told that her passport will arrive in about 1 week. Very satisfid with the whole process.
