Marina arrived at 7:30 AM in the pouring rain. Huge crowd of people were waiting. Her appointment was at 8 o'clock, so she was 3rd in line to be let in. She gave her papers to the lady in the front, who went through it. She noticed my income (which was below poverty) and asked for the sponsor's paperwork, which was given. She was allowed through at that point.
She went and sat and waited over an hour before the consulates showed up. Only two of them this time. One of them was one that denied her for her J-1 Visa back in December... Which was unexpected, and she was rather nervous. Luckily she got the other consulate, who looked over her papers for 15 minutes before calling her up.
He called her over, and started off with "What's the plan?" She told him our plans of getting married. He then asked who introduced us, when and where. When she told him the name, he seemed surprised that this particular person referred us (it was an old boss of ours from Cold S... read complete review

Our K-1 has our proxy marriage. So it had a few different details from regular k-1. Woman at #5 embassy window who takes papers was very unfriendly. She told Natasha wrong information. We had talked about how to deal with such possible problem. Nastasha follow directions given before day of interview. Consul officer was professional and friendly. Natasha had greeted him in English and they spoke the whole time in English. (He gave her choice of using Russian or English language.) Natasha gave him our papers about non-consummated proxy wedding, with copy of page from U.S. Department of State Foreign Affairs Manual Volume 9 - Visas 9 FAM 40.1 Notes on unconsummated proxy marriage. He smiled and looked at them for a few seconds. He keyed some information from manual page into his notes. He asked a few, very basic questions about our wedding. He also asked the standard questions listed in the review posted here from July of this year. So I will not repeat them here. A... read complete review

Very nice consul, very friendly and easy to talk with. Lots of questions but smooth approval, never even asked for a single evidence of relationship, the consul said the conversation was enough to make a decision Could have saved a nice tall tree - all that paper that was used for printing out chats and emails and call logs was used for nothing

Elena arrived about 15 minutes early for the 10 o'clock appointment. At about five after, they called for her and she met with the consul and he took the evidence that she had brought with her, photos, proof of income, conversations, and then asked questions. What concerns from the family, Do I have children, how does her daughter consider me, about my brothers and sisters, about a dozen questions. It was all questions that we were exspecting to be asked. Then he looked over the evidence, the photos and skype conversations and asked how well we communicated and then said well, Congradulations, you visas are approved! You should recieve your passports in the mail in about a week.
Elena never said anything bad about the interview so I am guessing it was good.

Interview sounds like it went pretty well.
Appointment was for 10am, and she ended up waiting until 1pm to be seen. Apparently there was some minor concern over the amount of time we spent together in person, so the interviewer asked a final very important question...
"Are you going to get a cat or a dog?".
VISA APPROVED!
