From what my fiancee has told me, her interview was very positive, quick, and painless. The only negative thing she had to say was that it was a little chilly inside the embassy, so be prepared. Nevertheless, all the consular personnel were cordial and professional.

She arrived for the 8AM appointment a little after 7 where a line was already beginning to form. She continued to wait in this line until they started letting people in (approximately 10 min to 8AM). First stop was verification of appointment/security. After passing through this, she was directed to the document/turn-in window where she gave the clerk all the required documents for both the petitioner and beneficiary which we were all listed on the US Embassy Moscow website for K1 applicants. She didn't mention anything about fingerprinting, but I suspect this was done as well. She then had a seat and waited for her name to be called for the interview with the consular officer. The waiting area was directly ... read complete review

The interview has been scheduled on 8am. After waiting for almost 3 hours the interview took only 5 minutes. My girl was well organized and all documents she had were in folder. The officer didn't even look at them. She was interviewed in Russian language. First question for everyone is the same how do you guys communicate? I speak Russian so my girl was interviewed in Russian as well, if you communicate in English and you want to be interviewed in Russian its a big no no!!!!! Just relax and try it in English, the officers will appreciate it.Over all my girl said - If I would know, it would be that easy I would not be so nervous stressed!!! piece of cake if you well organized and prepared. Good luck to everyone.

According to Oksana, the woman who interviewed her and her son couldn't have been nicer. Ok said she kept smiling at Slava the whole time. She was very happy with the whole experience!

My wife arrived about 7:30 and got in line with about 6 other people. Through the entrance, then eventually to a room where everyone with an 8 AM interview slot waited. She was called to a window where a woman interviewed her. She expected a private room but the interview was conducted at a window with a low partition in public view. They started out speaking Russian but then the woman asked her if she spoke English. She said yes and the woman switched to English. She asked about how we met, how my wife feels about our age difference, how the ex-husband feels about the son leaving the country. My wife became very chatty and smiling and she said it was actually a pleasant interview. The woman told her that everything was in order and her visa was approved.

Julia was the first to be interviewed on 3/5. She was the last to come out and had a letter that said: Administrative Processing. We stayed in limbo for 7 days and then got an email saying she was approved. It seems that AP is done randomly and you just need to be patient. I hate being patient and this has been a heart wrenching experience. Thank God there is VJ. The State department should run this site or invest in therapy for everyone here. The only answers I ever got were found here. Thank you everyone!
