My fiance arrived there at 0930 and waited with a bunch of other people waiting to enter the consulate, they checked her appointment confirmation and checked her bag (just a simple plastic one with all the documentation). She didn't bring a cell phone or even a belt, so once they started letting people in, it was pretty fast.
She was instructed to go to the area where they handle K-1 visas (and other immigrant visa types presumably), and after they took her paperwork, they had her sit in the hallway there until she was called up for her interview. I believe she mentioned it took about an hour before she was called.
The interview itself was fast, just simple questions about our relationship, how we met, if we had a date for the wedding yet, etc. The consular officer did read through our (very trimmed down, but still ~100 pages worth of) emails/whatsapp chat logs, but not super carefully, just to get a gist of what they contained I guess. She then said the v... read complete review

I was interviewed April 14th at Guangzhou, China. As I'm Russian and have been processed not in my country I was extremly nervous. I guess emotionally it was more diffucult rather than questions and the whole interview process itself.
Anyways I was asked several questions:
How we met if he doesn't have russian or chinese background?
What is he doing?
Did he always live there, where he lives now?
Did you meet his parents?
Did you go to other countries beides China?
When are you going to enter the US?
When and where do you want to get married?
What he had been doing in China?
What I have been doing in China?
You've never been to the US. But it rather a statement than a question.
Asked for pictures and asked for attachment to I-129F, with his explanation how we met each other.
After this she said that my visa application is approved.

Approved. Very short and to the point. Last interview of the day so he was ready to be done. He didn't even ask to see evidence of our relationship. Both of us went in together. I think the sponsor being present is the best evidence of relationship that you can provide. Questions asked regarding financial support and previous visa applications.
