My fiance had his interview yesterday and it was a very stressful day. He had to complete an online form DS-160 before setting up his interview. On that form it asks for the location of interview. He was supposed to put Paris even though he is Portuguese and his embassy is in Lisbon (But they do not complete these visas). So my fiance put Lisbon instead. He completed that form 2 months prior to the interview and we did not get anything back so we thought we were ready for the interview. The day before the interview, while my fiance was flying to Paris from Lisbon, we received an email stating that he needs to fix the on line form by 2:00 pm local Paris time or his interview will be cancelled and rescheduled for next month. I am in the U.S. reading this and not able to contact my fiance because he is in the air with no phone service. So I emailed the embassy back saying that he will need to fix it after the 2:00 deadline because he is flying. As soon as my fiance contacted me, I informe... read complete review

Reading online we weren't sure if I (the American petitioner) was allowed to go in with my fiance. We arrived about 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. There was an individual confirming appointments prior to entering and going through security, they confirmed that I was able to go inside.
Once through security we went inside and was directed right to a window, a woman confirmed they had our file, and all the supporting documentation. we waited in line for an open window with an interviewer (probably 15 to 20 minutes).
The interviewer was direct, but nice. He asked my fiance a few questions pertaining to my family history. He asked if I was the petitioner (his fiance) and answered Yes, the interviewer commented then that this should be pretty easy. In line we didn't see any other person with their fiance, and you could hear the interviewers asking more questions than was asked of my fiance.

I had my interview at the Paris embassy at 11.30 on a Wednesday and I got there about 15 minutes earlier. Here is a description of how it went in four steps. All the described interactions were held in English except for the conversation with the nice lady (step 3).
1-Before entering the building the security staff outside asked me to turn off my phone and tell them the time of my appointment. After that they asked to see my passport, the police certificates, and the medical examination. They looked at it briefly and handed it all back to me.
2- The first room I walked into was a security check room, much like those at the airports, but smaller. They looked inside my backpack and scanned it. They kept a few things such as my phone and headphones, a pen, a small notebook, lip balm, gum and some tissues. They only left me with my documents folder, wallet and glasses. Then they gave me a batch with a number to collect it all on my way out.

Everything went well. I was super nervous and my husband was not. They allowed me to be with him at all times, except when it was time for the interview I couldn't say anything. Initially, they spoke to him in Portuguese, except once again when it was time for the interview itself, which was in English. She asked my husband strange questions. She wanted to know how long we had been married, how we met and when my husband said that our parents were friends and we knew each other since we were kids, she wanted to know how long we dated for. My husband didn't explain himself very well and she started to get frustrated by wanting to know if I ever moved there, if not then how come we started dating. Then, my husband said he had our wedding album and started showing her pictures. She wanted to know why he had pictures alone in his bedroom (it is Portuguese tradition) and she wanted to see pictures of my parents. When he showed her me with my parents on our wedding day, she wanted to see all... read complete review

Had my interview on 22/3/2017, was schedule to 11h45 am
Arrived France the day before, stayed in a friends house, he got me the chronopost envelope. Day after went by train to Paris, got out from train near the embassy, waited in the park until 11h then went in the embassy.
Gone through the first security, they saw my hand bag, my papers and passed a wand on me they were nice to me, then went to a lady near that asked me for my passport, medical exams, my interviem schedule and my criminal report, put all together and sent me in, went through another security, they saw all again, met a portugese security man from north of Portugal, he was really nice to me and sent me in. When i finally was inside of the embassy I saw 2 signs one to citizens and other to visas, gone to the last one and waited on the line for 20 min, alot o persons there on that day. Was called to a desk and the lady, very nice told me if i wanna to speak to a portuguese lady, I said no cause i can... read complete review
