I did my interview without my husband-to-be.

My interview was at the US embassy in Lima at 8:45 am, and I arrived at 7:20, and I found a long line outside the embassy. A man soon asked for us to get in lines for 7:30 am appointments, 8 am appointments, etc. I got in the 8:30 line. Then we entered security to go inside the building. Then they separated us by tourist visas and immigration visas.

I was lucky I found a seat; I was very nervous! About 10 minutes later, they called my name to go to Window #9. A young woman asked for my passport, medical exam, all the papers the embassy told us to fill out and my fiancee's I-134 and tax papers. She told me to take a seat and wait to be called again.

In another 30 minutes, another woman called me and asked me if I had been in the U.S. before. This made me very nervous because I had been denied a tourist visa to the U.S. about 10 years earlier. I told her about this, and she wrote it down. Then she a... read complete review

Our interview went very smoothly. The interview was for 9 am, but we got there at 8 to wait in line. I suggest getting there even earlier, but we had trouble getting a cab. We waited in line about 5 minutes, then an embassy worker asked to see peruvian passport, DS156 with photo stapled on, reciept of payment and interview letter. We went straight in while others stayed in line (I imagine they were getting visiting visas) and waited about 10 minutes to be called to window 14 where we handed in DS156, DS156k, and DS157, payment reciept and passport. then back to waiting. the next wait was longer, but finally we were called to window 12 where we were asked for the rest of the paperwork, our photos, etc and the lady asked us some questions about our relationship, where we met, how long we have been dating, when we got engaged, those sorts of things. Then back to waiting and this time we waited a really long time to get called to door 15. I was very scared about door 15 because peo... read complete review

they asked simple questions.
they asked my wife in english, do you speak english?,
wife responds, NO, then I look at wife and say honey ! , speak to me now, please.
bla, bla, bla, see I say? to the officer.

when the inspector heard all this , he knew we were not faking it , because the fakers would never say that. THe fakers are scripted.

My wifes speaks great english you see, but she is never happy with her ability.
She is now reading the bible in english.
Took her drivers test in english (by accident). ( funny !)

Just convince them you are in love, holding hands, and all the body language of lovers. They are pro's, dont tell any lies, just be your selves.
we had 100 emails printed out and 500 on CD. ( and tons of photos).
It really is easy.
but we were scared too. ( the unknown)_
all the best to you all !! Do it .

We arrived at the embassy 1 hour early. And entered rather quickly, the interview was for 8:30 a.m., we entered the office around 8 a.m. They called us up to a window to ask for some forms and proof our marriage is bonafide. Then the woman asked Silvana some questions about us, and told us we needed to fill out another D-156 form, so she gave us a letter to return back in an hour. We returned with the form filled out and gave that back to the lady at the window. Then she told us we needed another Judicial Nacional Nivel certificate(the one we had was not nacional). But that takes 10 days to clear, so they told us to sit down, and about half an hour later called us to the interview room for the official interview. The man there asked us questions about our wedding and how we met, and asked about our pregnancy loss(he had the photo of our ecografia of the baby when it was fine) Then gave us a yellow letter that stated we needed the Judicial certificate still, and that when they rec... read complete review
