Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Interview and visa went as normal in June 2013, Wife got in on time, took her less then hour.

Everything was in order, CO lady stated that wife's visa is approved and she will receive it within 10 days. She did not get any green or blue slip, all original documents were handed back to her and she wasn't asked to submit any other document.

However, most if not all IR1 and CR1 applicants regardless of gender were being put into AP during those months. (seemed like that they had short staff and backlog which started clearing up in by August 2013. (based on following other visajourney members timeline and post)

Wife received her Visa in September 2013.

Has anyone ever heard about a fiance visa interview that focus' on the character of the US citizen?

Fiance had interview in Pakistan a few days ago. The interview was done in his language and an interpreter in english was there as well. Three questions were asked about pakistani fiance's background. Then he was about to receive approval, when the interviewer was ushered into another office. He came back and began to bombard fiance with questions about his fiance in america. How did they meet on a chatroom? What was the initial topic discussed during the chatroom that led each other to one another? How can you marry, if your fiance is not muslim? When fiance explained about his fiance converting to islam, the interview said where is the certificate certifying that she is a muslim? Fiance interjects by saying that she converted 5 years prior and takes arabic classses at the mosque. The interviewer asks for proofs of those classes, and send throu... read complete review

Alhumdulilah!! The process was very smooth.

Submitted the packet 3.5 on Oct 25 (Friday) and it was received on the 28th (Monday). Packet 4 took a while, came on Dec 09. Interview date was Dec 27.

Here is how the interview day went:
My fiancee had her appointment time 7:30 a.m. so she was the first to be interviewed. I told her to get there earlier as everyone else here suggested. She left her hotel around 6 got outside the embassy around 6:45ish. she was directed to Immigration line. She was the second one there. A family with elderly person came so she let them cut the line. She enter the embassy around 7:30. Gave her passport to the counter and cash. Her dad gave her exact change and some extra money so she doesn't have to wait for change.

After that she was called for interview and standard questions and one interesting question.

How you met?
Is it arranged or Love marriage
Wouldn't it be difficult ... read complete review

Review Topic: F-2A Visa

Got at the embassy at 7.20 am, the first shuttle bus leaves at 7 am in the morning. You get the token for your relevant visa type (Immigrant/Non-Immigrant) and go through security gates and scanners as found at airports mainly. You wait for your turn to get finger prints done and two 2" x 2" photos to be taken. You go to a hall and drop your passport, medical at the counter with the interview letter. After the CO is ready to conduct the interview, he/she will call you. Be comfortable, friendly and most of all honest and maintain eye contact at all times possible. First you take oath that everything you say will be honest etc.... I was asked who is calling, answered wife, asked for original Urdu Nikah Nama, which is actually signed by bride and groom, a few questions about spouse, saw a few wedding photos, how often do I contact her etc. At the end the CO gave Nadra issued Marriage Registration Certificate and Birth Certificate and said CONGRATULATIONS! Your Case is Approved and you sho... read complete review

My fiance went in for his interview in March. He went in early, just like he was instructed to. He had to wait a few hours because there were many people at the consulate office that day that had to get an interview. Finally, when it was his turn, the interviewer asked him a few simple questions like how we know each other, what his dad does, what my dad does, etc. He then gave my fiance a green paper and said that his case will go under further review, but it is nothing to worry about because everyone goes through it. Overall, my fiance said that it was very simple and casual. But little did we know, that the time it took to process the visa was very long - we ended up getting put on Administrative Processing and it took a year and nine months to get out of AP. It was a very frustrating time to have to wait for so long without them telling us anything. Finally at the end of October, he got an email saying to redo his Medical Examination and send in a few forms because they were expire... read complete review
