My fiance got to the interview @ abt 5am. he was no 3 in line. They asked for his interview letter and the security people verified he was on the list. He went in and turned in his docs, passprt,ds156 and all that. he paid the 350 fee and then they gave him a reciept and a number, then he went to the window and sat down till his number was called. A lady of mixed race he stated was the one who interviewed him, she was nice and professional. Below are the questions he was asked:
Why are you here
Who is petitioning for you
How old are you
How old is she
Was she born in the U.S or did she migrate
What course did she study
What course did you study
What are your wedding plans
How often do you talk
Do you have any pictures
Those were all the questions he was asked. She asked to see pictures and my 2010 tax return although i had 3 yrs worth, and then she said congrats and to pick up his passport a week later, he was... read complete review

I appeared at embassy today for K1-visa, but unfortunately I was refused based on the fact that I said that I paid dowry during my engagement to my fiancee parent.
Please can somebody help me out on the next step?

My husbands interview began at 7am but he got there about 5:30. My Father in law said there had to be atleast 100 people there but not sure of the reasons. My husband was called in around 8am to give his passport/physical and to correct a paper that I sent to NVC. At that point he sat and waited for the next 4hours. At 12:00 he was called by a young man who asked
HOW WE MET
WHY I HAD NOT BEEN BACK TO NIGERIA AGAIN
HOW OFTEN HE SPEAKS TO MY CHILDREN (OUR)
ASKED FOR TAX FORMS
ASKED FOR PHONE RECORDS
ASKED FOR MESSENGER/SKYPE RECORDS
ASKED TO SEE PICUTURES(PLEASE HAVE PICS WITH OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS/FRIENDS NOT JUST YOU TWO)
The man went to the back...came back and said Congradulations
He said it wasn't very stressful...just make sure you are calm and honest. Listen and take your time to understand and answer. Thanks VJ you helped us make it through!

We got to the Embassy at 6:45 for the 7:00 am the line was already long but she was akkowed in. The interview went well, she was asked the name of the company I work, how long I have been in gthe US. The CO actually said he wanted to be sure of our rlationships because of my previous maariages to Nigerians. He asked about our religion and mine, why we did not get married in Nigeria, her occupation, our engagement pictures, phone records. He lkso asked if I have paid the dowry and she said NO. He was satisfied with her answers, but because we just have a newborn baby of 13 days and we already filed the CRBA, he said although he has approved the visa, but will not be issued untill the outcome of the CBRA. So we have to wait for that hopefully for another 6 weeks. The CRBA was finnaly approved and my daughter was issued the passport and the CRBA, but was told to come back for interview on February 27, 2012. Hubby arrived at the Lagos Embassy at 6:30 am (based on other VJers experiences), even though his interview was not scheduled until 10:00 am. He said they called him in at 12:00 p.m., and asked for the following documents: Death Cert (I was married once before, and they asked for the death cert of my late husband to make sure I was a widow), his Birth Cert, Marriage Cert, & my 2010 income tax. He was called into the interview (white female), and she asked him only the following questions:
Who was his petitioner?
Where his wife was born, and my parents name?
She asked about my siblings
Why he was going to the states?
Why has your wife only visited once?
The CO told him he was Approved. He was finished at 1:15 p.m., and texting me with the good news. Praise God!!
All in all he said it was a good experience, even with the long wait.
