Here is my interview experience at the Lagos Consulate in Nigeria today. My interview appointment was scheduled for 6:30 am, I woke up around 4:00am, and set out for 5:00am, I got to the Embassy around 5:30. There is a private park just adjacent the U.S. consulate. The parking fee is 500 Naira, I parked and waited inside the car. I noticed people were already queuing by 5:55am, I quickly hurried towards the queue and joined. Subsequently 6:30am appointment, 7:00 am, 8:00 am were all separated as people for 6:30 were asked to remain in the queue. Preferential treatment was given to aged, pregnant women, and women with kids. After the Security Check, was appointment confirmation. A tally and a contact sheet was handed over to me. In a group of 5 we were asked to go inside for document collection and subsequently interview. At the entrance, I was asked to press B (IMMIGRANT VISA) and a slip came out. On this slip is written a number which will be eventually used to call ap... read complete review

I hope it can help you prepare for your interview. This is a recount of my experience at the American Embassy in Lagos, Nigeria
The Lagos Embassy is a very busy one.You will be amazed at the number of people you would find waiting as early as 5:30am. The embassy divided the process into 2 stages. The first stage is to pass security checks and get into the waiting area. The Second stage is the entry into the Main building which happens to be across the street to the waiting area.If you plan to drive yourself, there is a private car park very close to the embassy where you would get to park for 500 naira. In my case i drove and i was glad i did. I had set my alarm to go off at 15mins interval from 4:30am incase i overslept but luckily for me, i was up by 4am (more like i never slept).
I got out of my house by 5am and i was at the embassy less than 30mins later. I figured that was too early so i sat in my car and called my wife to while away time...A... read complete review

My husband had an interview today, when he arrived the attendant told him the interview was rescheduled to 7-18-2015 without any notices. I am so angry and sad. My heart is aching for my husband; travel so far only to be turned around. The attendant said that his sponsor should have told him of the change. I have not received any notices. My advice to everyone some how find a way to double check your interview time so want have this same situation.

Hello everyone,
I was scheduled by NVC for interview at the Lagos consulate on May 28th 2015.
My wife arrived Lagos from the U.S. a few days to my interview date and we checked into a hotel close to the consulate on the 27th of May.
However to our total dismay and shock we received a mail in the afternoon of the 27th that the interview is on the 2nd of July.
I went to the consulate as originally scheduled in the morning with my interview letter as sent to me by NVC but was informed my name wasn't on the list.
Please can anyone explain to me why I was treated in this manner and any chance of having my interview earlier.
Thanks!
