Husbands appt was for 6:45am. Was interviewed at 10am. Said the CO was awesome and extremely friendly and supportive! Because my husband has children with another woman and classified himself as married on previous visitor visa application, they had to clairify that. He was honest and stated that he was never married before and explained why when asked. The CO gave him a blank paper and asked him to attest to that fact and then take another oath in writing that would go in the file. Then gave him a paper stating “before adjudicating your immigrant visa app, your case must undergo further administrative processing. We will notify you by either email or phone as soon as admin processing is complete. If you have not heard from us within 90 days, you can send us an email at... to request an updateâ€. At first, I thought this meant he was denied but after further
Research it seems this is common and most get their visas after. Anyone know of this or experienced this before... read complete review

Even though our journey has been very long, I'm still please with Lagos Consulate. Staff is doing their job and they are suppose to question whatever looks suspicious. My hubby was approved for visa on Monday, July 16th and his passport was ready 3 days later.. now that's fast service! Anyway, this is our second time applying for US visa. First was in 2015, k-1. My hubby was not approved. See my previous review of the Consulate. (I just submitted that about a few days ago.) IR-1 was the second. According to my hubby all was well at the interview. Basic questions were asked such as info on previous marriage and personal info about me. Sorry, I'm not going to focus on questions and answers. Those are well covered in other folks views. So, I will stress the importance of telling the truth, paying attention to details, and let your journey be your journey. By following these principles, my hubby had no problem with the interview. He had to admit to mishaps from prevoius visitor applicati... read complete review

I did a lot of online research and saw online that some people took care of a lot of things before the receiving their packet answer that is what I did. We decided not to wait for NVC and took care of the medical exam, police report and even paid the visa fee and set up interview before the case got to the embassy. I did some calculations based on their usual responses off someone else’s timeline that matched the beneficiary’s country and it’s worked in my favor. Case was received by the embassy and we already have all the documents ready, now we are just waiting for his interview date.

Overall, the interview was ok. My husband (fiancee at the time) was not approved for visa. He was interviewed twice. At the first interview, he was asked basic questions.. who petition you, how did we met, etc as well as he was asked to explain about previous visitor visa applications. Hubby confessed that he used touts for previous applications and knew that some info were not correct. So he was asked to return within a week with me. At second interview, we were placed in a side room to chat with some local workers. The questions were still basic and focused on hubby previous marriage. The vibe between my hubby and the interviewee was not good. The interviewee kept playing like a twisted mind game by accusing my hubby just so that my hubby will errupted and not focused. Anyway after 20 mins, hubby was called to speak to CO (white american). CO stated the petition will be sent back to US. The interwee told the CO that my hubby previous marriage divorce was not valid.
Even thoug... read complete review
