My interview was on the 7th of August 2007, my appointment was for 7am, but i finally had my interview at 2pm, and that wasn't very funny cos i was there in time and so i had to wait in a very cold room for about 7hrs, so be sure to wear something really warm so that you don't get cold. But when i was finally called for an interview, it went very well, i was interviewed by a nice and friendly guy, who asked me what i knew about my husband, how we met, what he does and what kind of things we talk about, and i told him all that, then he asked for pictures of our wedding which i gave him, and i guess that was all he needed, even though before the interview i had already submitted other stuff like like birth and marriage certificates, affidavit of support, medical report and stuff like that, so he asked me to come and pick up my visa in the next 3days and now, i am with my husband and it's so wonderful to finally be with him. For anyone going to this embassy for this type of visa, here are some important things to note when you have your own interview. My husbands interview was scheduled for 7 am and we arrived at 6:15 am just to make sure we didn't get caught in any of that Lagos holdup. That wasn't necessary because the first people that get to stand in line for appointments are people who are doing drop box only. Meaning they don't have an interview, they are just dropping their passports and getting fingerprinted. After they are in line, then the regular interviewees are allowed to queue. Once inside the embassy, people waiting to be interviewed wait until 10 am or so, when the drop box people are finished being processed before any actual interviews take place (this explains why people are always waiting hours for the interview at this embassy). His interview was at 7am, we arrived a little late at 7:45am. The bad part was that he was the last person interviewed that day, so, his interview did not begin until after 5pm. Yes we were there for over 9 hours. His interview began with the regular questions: how did you meet?, where does she work? what does she do for a living?, how many times has she been to Nigera? and what they focused on more was when was the last time she was here? Well, when she got to that part she totally focused on the fact that zi came to Nigeria for the interview. I had given him my passport to show my entry stamp. The interviewer was quit empressed that I was there. For evidence we had 2 photo albums aobut 300 pics plus 200 loose pictures from our last visit that would not fit into the albums. Well, the albums were small but would not fit through the slot in the window. The interview was held in Lagos and it was not a plesant experience. We sailed through everything until we got to the consular's post. The consular was very rude. He was young and white. One of the first questions he asked my husband was why was he smiling. My husband is very friendly and as he approached the window he had a smile on his face. He accused my husband of not taking this occasion as serious(???//what?). He explained to my husband to look him in the eyes while he was talking to him and accused my husband of paying me to marry him. Refused to look at any of the Western Union receipts where I have to send him money due to his small business hitting more lows than highs these days. After my husband's wife of 29 years died I met him through his daughter who is here in the US, it was my doing, noy my husband's. I saw a picture of him and wanted to meet him.
