Besides standing in the freezing cold and a foot of snow, the process of going to the consulate and getting the interview went by pretty quickly.
They were a lot nicer to me this time than they were the first time I got an interview for a visa.
The lady was very nice and asked me only a few question ("how did you meet?" "where do you live now?" "who is his employer?" etc). After that they made me wait for maybe 20 minutes, they called me back to the window and told me I was approved and that I would get my visa in the mail in 5-10 business days (got it within a week).

I went to my interview on a very cold december morning, it was freezing! and we couldnt go inside the Consulate until the time of the interview. There were around 25 people waiting for different procedures, only 3 of us were there for the K-1 visa.
Before going inside they ask you to leave your celphone and laptops at a check point outside the building. Once inside you will have first to show your documents and one they see you have all that you need (filled out forms, financial statements, proof of relationship) they will ask you to wait to be called to the interview.
The Interview took about 4 minutes, the questions they asked me were: How did you meet your Fiancee? When was the last time you traveled to the US? How many times has he visited you? What does he do for a living? nothing more than that.

**** The girl who was before me did not her the visa approved, because she did not have enough papers to show that her Finacee had the financial means to take... read complete review

Well I had my interview in the amsterdam consulate the 20th of may. In general everything went well. the first thing I would like to point out though, read their website about entry of the embassy. I was dumb and didn't do that throughly and this cost me a lot of time, besides being treated like a terrorist lol

They ask you not to bring any electronics, be wise and don't. I made the mistake of carrying my laptop, phone, mp3 player, etc... This immediatly set me back 1,5 hour and completely back in line. They will ask you to take apart your equipment and leave your stuff with the guards. I arrived pretty much first but was dealt with the latest. So...respect their wishes...it'll help you a lot.

For the rest it went very well. Be prepared to take your time with it since there's pretty much just 1 person working through the papers and then the interview with the consul.

If your papers are in order like they asked and you have them with you in a... read complete review

Was easy. Got there early. There was a line. I was the first to go in. Went through security check. Then stood in front of a counter for 5 minutes and they were very nice and helpful. I had one wrong paper but did the rest of the interview. I went home. Got my paper I needed and mailed it to them. My visa was approved and I got my passport in the mail.

The wait was long since the consul had an unexpected matter to handle. Finally it went very smooth. The very friendly consul looked at the files, asked where we met (in France), we continued talking in French about France for a while. No other questions. The oath and then he congratulate me.
