Arrived right on time, security was cooperative. First woman my husband met with flagged us because the marriage certificate translation was a copy, but the page signed by the translator was an original. The woman who interviewed my husband was very kind. She asked general questions:

Who is the petitioner? How are you related?
How did you meet?
Why didn’t you have a wedding? Asked for photos
How many times has your wife been to Morocco?
What does your wife do for work?
Who do you call in the US in case of an emergency? (911)

Overall, he was pleased with the officer. He was in at 9am and was done by 10:15.

Review Topic: General Review

Arrived 45 mins before appointment. Lots of people waiting to go in as well. Husband was the last to be seen (waited 3 hours) After swearing under oath the Questions ask was:
How many time wife visited you here in Morocco?
Where do your spouse live?
Did he live in another country?
Where did you spend your honeymoon?
If your spouse is visiting you now?
What do you (hubby) do for a living?
Do you have any pictures from the honeymoon trip to DOMINICAN REPUBLIC?
Do you have any relatives in the USA?
Have you (hubby) ever been married before?
Do you know if your wife have been married previously?
Do you know if she’s divorced?
What is your your age?
What is her age?
Where does your wife work?
Where will we both live in the USA?

When my hubby took out the pictures to find one for DR, the officer ask to see the entire envelope with all the pictures… he took out one of the pictures with me and my father n law and ask who was in the picture with me and hubby said ‘she’s with my dad’. After that one picture he didn’t look at any others.

Coming into the office they ask what language you want to speak in husband said English. Officer ask what language do you want to speak in he said English. But the officer spoke some words in Arabic.

My husband wants you to know to always be yourself and speak the truth because then they will respect that. He said that is what he felt from the officer. He said the officer was very nice to him.

They looked at everything in the binder of the original documents and proof of marriage, but the whole folder was given back to us. The only thing they kept was the passport.

Visa was approved and we can pick up within two weeks.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Visa was put under “administrative review” after interview because he didn’t see the doctor in time or have a bachelor paper saying he’s never been married. His dr’s appointment was on March 19. We sent everything in via Aramex the next day. Visa was in review the whole time until we got a surprise out of no where… “APPROVED” (one of the best days of our lives). I don’t know if it made a difference but I emailed my senator asking for help, they never emailed back and within a week visa was approved.

I kept it very short. I had a lot of bumps in the road during this process…. Countless emails and phone calls. This whole visa experience is not for the weak!
