I submitted very little evidence for the I-129F, but my fiancee submitted a LOT of evidence on the document submission day. The evidence proved that I speak Mongolian (she does not speak English), that we communicate regularly, that I share a close relationship with her children, etc. It also included a timeline of our relationship.

I should mention that I lived in Mongolia for a year and a half, most of that time with my fiancee. That may have helped.

She had a long wait, but the actual interview took only a couple of minutes. She was asked basic biographical questions about her children, their birth father, our relationship, my parents, and how we communicate and what we talk about.

She was told that the visa would be approved upon receipt of the medical examination results (she needed a vaccination card which she was unable to get in time to have the medical done.) She was also told that the children will be able to interview and rec... read complete review

WAY better than I expected. I was super nervous, but the interview itself was only about two minutes. I was allowed to go in with my wife and we were asked the following questions:

- Have you ever been to the US before? When, how long, what did you do?

- How and when did you meet your husband?

- When was the first time you met in person?

- When did you get married?

- Has he met your family?

- Have you met his family?

She then said everything looked good and wished us luck

My fiancee had an interview on 10/23/2012.

I had worked/interned at this embassy in the past, had been a PCV in the country, etc. so I think that helped.

Otherwise they just asked her general questions about our relationship. Not very difficult for her.

Document intake is done only on Fridays and interview appointment is given at that time. Consular officer contacts beneficiary at the local address or phone number to notify them that they need to schedule medical and submit the medical report and original civil documents in order to schedule the interview. My wife went to the consular section on Friday 04/08 and submitted documents and medical reports. All other documents previously submitted to USCIS and to NVC were already in the hands of the consular officer. I sent my wife with a huge package of additional relationship evidence, text messages, e-mails, phone bills, travel documents, calling card receipts, etc... Thee officer saw the package and laughed saying "plese, we really already have enough" so my wife asked only to include about ten pages of original photographs in album pages which they accepted. The USC may not accompany the benificiary into the consular section on the day of document submission. The interview day went sm... read complete review

Interview was rather short and easy. Didn't really press on proof of marriage. Maybe because we had overwhelming evidence. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar has really nice people.
