We got our interview date July 1st at 7:15 am which was on a Monday. I was upset when I realized that meant we would need to go to Juarez on Thursday in order for her to take the medical exam on Friday (medical not open on Saturday or Sunday). Four nights in Juarez which we weren't excited about.

Any way, I've always heard how dangerous the area is for gringos but also for women. So I didn't want her going by herself, so I joined her. She flew from Hermosillo to Juarez and I flew from NC to El Paso. From EP had a driver (Amigo Shuttle)take me to the airport in Juarez to pick her up. The cost of the shuttle was $75 and it was nothing special, but it got us to the hotel safely with no issues.

We stayed at La Quinta based on the good reviews, and it was a pretty good stay. It is a clean hotel, good service, and helpful staff. They have decent breakfast included in the rates but it was so busy most of the time and such a small dining area that it was hard to... read complete review

My fiancé had his visa interview in Juarez on June 26th and ¡¡¡he was approved!!!

First, general observations about the experience:

- After doing all of the work it takes to reach the day of the interview, now it's really just a matter of showing up on time and following instructions. (And dealing with nervousness…)
- Some of the people you'll encounter working at the Consulate and health clinics are fairly brusque and in a bad mood, but it isn't personal; just respond calmly and pleasantly and it'll be fine.
- I knew Juarez was the desert, but I didn't realize quite how that feels, at least at this time of year. Dress appropriately, drink lots of water and look for shade!
- To prevent having to dig around for papers, my fiancé had a separate folder with his passport, letter of invitation, DS-260 confirmation sheet, payment confirmation, and ASC appt./Consulate appt. confirmation sheet, so he could just show it at the door at e... read complete review

Hello everyone, since my wife does not speak English, she asked me to write a review for her. So here it goes.

We arrived to Juarez last week 6/17 and took a taxi for $245 (pesos) to our hotel room, Holiday Inn Express Las Misiones. The next day she went to the medical interview at approximately 4:40am and was the 10th person in line. She was out by 7:30am with her black sealed envelope. The rest of the week we spent mostly at the mall. One day we got brave enough to tour the city and went to see Juan Gabriel's (a famous Mexican singer) house which he turned into a home for poor youth where they get to stay the week and learn to play musical instruments. He has a small collection of his things (awards, performance costumes, originals of lyrics he wrote on paper, etc.) Entrance was $50 pesos each. Very interesting especially if you're a fan and into helping the poor. Then we visited the Revolutionary War Museum at the old border crossing, the entrance was free and it was ... read complete review
