Went for my K1 interview Oct 22, 2013
Embassy officer who interviewed me in the afternoon was a very friendly woman.
Swore me in before getting me to sign my forms and went on to cancel my past tourist B2 visas (both my old expired one and the current 10 year visa) before she even started to interview me - my hopes were definitely up by then!
Asked me a few questions - how we met, when we starting dating, where my fiance works, what he does at work, his siblings, pulled a few pictures out to ask me who took them, where it was taken. Always smiling and started typing as soon as I started answering, felt like she had already made up her mind before she even started the interview - most likely based on the big amount of relationship evidence we submitted early on during the petition, that and 5 years worth of proof...javascript:emoticon(' ')
She told me to wait outside again to be told where to collect my passport and ... read complete review

HI everyone,
I thought I'd do a review on my experience at the interview Aug 1st. I thought it'd be helpful since we don't have a lot of reviews on the US Embassy KL.
REVIEW:
I stayed at GTower Hotel, which is about 10mins walk from the embassy. Got there at about 850am, the embassy seemed quiet, didn't see anyone lining up outside at all. Gave my IC to the guard, who then gave me a visitor's pass. Walked in through the door, went through security, left my blackberry and Lumia phone at the front before going in.
From what I know and based on reviews by others, I didn't bring my camera/Macbook Air, was told those would not be allowed into the embassy as well (tho im off the habit of taking them everywhere), I left them at the hotel. So if you're planning to read on your tablets while you wait, I'd suggest bring a book as your tablets would not be allowed inside.
Got in, chose a B number, mine was 411. Went to th... read complete review

I arrived around 8.30 a.m. for the document check-in which was scheduled at 9. The guards were already letting people in before 9. The submission of documents was a pretty painless process. I had copies of all my documents except for the original birth certificate in Malay. For some reason, I thought they only needed a copy of the translated version. I told the lady at the counter that I didn't have it. She grunted something which sounded like she wasn't pleased. Whoops. She was fine after that though. I was out by 9.10 a.m. which left me ample time to window shop at KLCC.
I left the mall at 12.30 thinking that the guards would let people in earlier than the scheduled interview time of 1.30 but unfortunately, this time they waited until it was almost time i.e. 1.30 p.m.
There were a total of four immigrant visa applicants. The numbers we took in the morning were re-used therefore each of us were called accordingly. The officer asked me - how did we meet,... read complete review
