My fiance just got approved today and he told me it was a stress-free experience! Everyone was really nice to him and once you get into the actual interview, it only taked a few minutes before you are approved.
They asked him a few questions, like when did you see your fiance last, when did you get engaged, does she work or is she in school? And that was about it. He gave them all the paperwork and they didn't really ask him for anything additional.
My fiance never received the packet in the mail or the interview date so we actually had to e-mail the embassy to ask for the information. They are very prompt and answer e-mails rather quickly. They e-mailed us a checklist of what to bring with us and what forms to fill out, which we were able to get from the government website.
They told my fiance that he should be getting his visa within 3-5 days via Aramex!

I can't wait! It's been one year & 1 week since we have seen each ot... read complete review

From day 1 the embassy in Amman has been extremely helpful, always answering all of our email questions. Although we never recieved our packet 3 from them, they were able to give us everything we needed to know via email.

I was in Jordan to be at the interview with my habibi and we arrived at 6AM for our 7:30AM appt. The guards told us to wait accross the street, we were too early. At about 7:15AM we went to the "immigration line" and they sentus through security and they gave us a number, 5. We waited in the comfortable waiting room for about half an hour watching Lebanese TV. Then they called us to the window and asked for all of our documents. I had them neatly organized in clear plastic sleeves in a notebook. The girl asked who did this and then asked us to take everthing out of the notebook. She was very kind and sweet, and laughed with us. In fact, the mood in the waiting room was also very light. Lots of people laughing, kids around, ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband had his interview on May 21..scheduled at 8:00 am. He arrived on time and got in the line for immigrant visas. He said he was happy to be in that line as the visit visa line was really long. He was number 3 in line behind a family with 4 children, and the second in line was a woman.

The first thing they did was take his cell phone...which was expected, then told them to sit in the big waiting room. The people for visit visas came in next but were seated in a different area.

The family with 4 children were called to the window..he said they took an hour there (his sense of time I think was a bit off...he was nervous and could only think about smoking). He said the single woman was called up next and she took maybe 25 minutes there....then he was called next and they asked for...I think his appointment letter and original birth certificate. Actually, he had to remind her about the birth certificate..and also asked for his passport photos... read complete review

OVERALL MY HUSBAND THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD, QUICK INTERVIEW. HIS INTERVIEW WAS SET FOR 7:30AM ON MAY 6, 2009. HE WAITED ABOUT 4 HOURS FOR HIS INTERVIEW. HE FINALLY GOT CALLED BACK, AND IT LASTED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, OR SO. IT WAS VERY BRIEF.
THE MAN ASKED ABOUT HOW WE MET, ABOUT MY CHILDREN, ABOUT OUR LIKES, ABOUT OUR FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHAT IT WAS ABOUT, ASKED ABOUT MY JOB. THE MAN ASKED TO SEE A FEW PICS OF ME AND MY HUSBAND. THEN SAID HE WAS APPROVED!!!!!!!
HE WENT AND PAID HIS ARAMEX FEE FOR HIS VISA, AND HAD THE CHOICE TO HAVE IT MAILED OR PICK IT UP. HUSSAM CHOSE TO PICK IT UP. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE READY IN 10 TO 14 DAYS. BUT, OUR LAWYER SAID HE SHOULD GET IT IN 4 TO 5 DAYS.
SOON HE WILL FLY TO US!!!! BEEN A LONG WAIT, BUT WELL WORTH IT!!!! THANK GOD!!
