My appointment was at 8:30.
I arrived at the embassy about 8:00 and waited about 2.5 hours for my interview.
The officer asked me a few questions and I left the embassy at 11:30. (interview was less than 5 min.) It took a week to receive my visa.
They were very nice and helpful.

Arrived at the Embassy before 8:30 and got to go in early. We checked in with the interview comfirmation email we got from the embassy, and were given a see-through plastic envelope with instructions on what order to put the forms and given a number. After we got our stuff in order, we waited for about 15-20 minutes before our number was called. The man checked our forms and made sure everything was in order. He was very pleasant and we joked with him a little as he checked our documents. After that, we sat down for another 10-15 minutes until our number was called again for Yumi's fingerprints. After this, another round of 10-15 minutes until we were called for our interview. The interviewer was a man and asked us if we wanted the interview in English or Japanese. We opted for English, but at times, he spoke very good Japanese for Yumi. We prepared for the questions about family, but got questions about where we will live and what are our plans are after going to Seattle inst... read complete review

my appointment was at 8:30am, I got there at 7am and there was already one lady at the gate.
at 7:30am, the line started to be longer, so I recommend you to get there early. Got in to the buliding at 8am, got out at 10:30am.
they didn't ask to show any evidence of fiance relationship.
the officer asked me to tell about how our relationship started, when we got engaged, how many times we visited each other, when and where we are planning to marry. I was missing a document that shows his status as a legal US citizen, they asked him to send the original natiralization certificate but as soon as they recieve it, they will issue me the visa.

Showed up 45 minutes early at 8:15AM, was done by 10:45AM. Only a few questions asked (Does the petitioner have a job, are the beneficiaries parents planning on coming to the wedding, when is she planning on coming to the US) and they gave the approval.

Nice woman interviewer and no problems
