The interview was not to hard. My fiancee arrived before 8:00 am and was number 17 in line. The consulate officers were very blunt and not the most friendly people. My fiancee was required to speak English unlike what some previous reviews had led us to believe. The question were easy.
1. How did you get to know each other?
2. How much can he speak Japanese?
3. When did you meet his parents?
4. When did he meet your parents?
5. When will you get married?
6. What is your job?
The whole thing was over by 10:30 am with no real problems. We just wish the officers were a little more friendly.

The wait was a little long but the interview itself was only 5 minute long. My interviewer asked me how I met my fiance (back then), how long we had been together, why we didn't get married when we lived together in the U.S. before I came back to Japan and etc. He seemed a nice man. After asking all the questions he needed, he said "Ok, I'm conviced. Your visa will arrive in 2 to 3 days." and it did! I was so happy!

We arrived at 7:30 for our 8:30 interview.
We were let inside at 8:00.
We emptied the contents of our pockets into baskets and went through metal detectors. We didn't have any electronics with us so we didn't have to leave anything with the staff. The staff was extremely polite and the experience was very easy.
We were greeted by someone at the front desk. She gave us a folder with instructions specifying what order to put our documents.
We went in and got a number (#001). When called we gave the packet.
I definitely overdid my I-134 docs since it felt more like I was trying to support 10 people!! (50+ paystubs, tax transcripts for 4 years, etc)
About 10 minutes later, we were called again and my fiancee had to give fingerprints. Then they gave a bulk of my I-134 docs back.
About 30 minutes later, we were called again and we had the interview. I knew I wasn't allowed to do the interview with her but I went up anyway. The CO told me to ... read complete review
