It went fine and took about 3 hours altogether. She says that the questions were easy and mostly about how we met and mildly personal information (favorite food- that kind of thing). They also quized her about the proof of relationship materials we sent in for the I-129F submission. She translated her own documents and that worked fine with only her signature on the translation. The payment-website account system was a confusing pain-in-the-butt and we had to go on-line after the interview to confirm our payment before they would issue the visa.

The embassy in Naha (Urasoe, actually) is amazing. In our experience, they were so helpful and understanding, especially considering that NVC lost most of our original documents and delayed our expedite by a month at least.

My husband was only asked 3 questions: "How long have you been together?", "Do you live together?", and "What is your wife's job?". I was told that I didn't need to be interviewed at all. They weren't intimidating and there was no harassment of any kind

They asked her a few simple questions (name, do you love him, where will you live, etc) in Japanese and she responded in Japanese. No problems.

I would like to start off by saying my fiancee stressed really bad about the interview process. She is very detailed and wanted everything to be perfect. She stressed almost to the point that I couldn't talk to her sometime. She often tells me that I am too easy going. lol
Well her appoint interview time was set for 1400 on 21 May. She arrived at 12 to make the line and be in by 1400. That was a mistake, they break or do something during lunch hour and open the doors at 1400. Needless to say she had to find something to do for 2 hours. She got in and handed someone her paperwork the a glass window and she sat in the waiting room. Then she started to worry because many people that came in after her was getting called before her. She also thought the interview would be one on one in a private room. (haha) They finally called her to the window and they asked her only two questions, one was about the ages of my kids, and the other when will get married. Then the lady congratulated h... read complete review

I arrived there around 8:30 am for my 9:30 appointment. I got the number 25. I left Embassy around 10. So it took about 1.5 hours.

Question asked:
Where are you going to live in US?
Who is Alex (husband's name)?
What is the relationship between you and Ben (joint sponsor)?
Where did you and your husband meet?
Where did you get married?
When did you get married?
Do you have a child?
What was your major in college?
Will you going to work or go back to school once you are in US?

The interviewing officer was a Caucasian man. He was not too friendly, but polite and gave me a few smiles during the interview lol.

I forgot to bring a prepaid envelope, but there were shipping labels we can use. You pay for post when the visa is arrived at your home.
