I'm the petitioner, and I'm in the US. I wasn't actually there.
My fiance (Akiko) said the interview went great.
Appointment at 9am, she got there around 8 and was the number 20 waiting position.
They called a few positions out of order first, including hers, "number 2, number 9, number 10, number 20, etc."
She had maybe a 10 min interview and got verbal approval. They had already looked thru all the documents.
She said it was really easy.
We were worried about finances, had to have my dad as sponsor, but it seems like it was no big deal. Co-sponsors are cool in Tokyo. yay! and staff were friendly.

I'll echo what everyone else has said about the US Embassy in Tokyo and say that it was a quick and painless endeavor for a K-1 visa interview. My fiancee arrived right when she was scheduled to enter and between various submissions of paperwork and the eventual interview, she was in and out within 90 minutes. The consular officer was stone faced when asking the questions, but he didn't throw any curve balls. After my fiancee answered the fourth question he congratulated her on passing the interview and told her that the passport with the visa included would arrive at her home in a week. It actually arrived four days later, so even that was better than expected!

I had my appointment at 9am and I got there at 8:40am. I waited for probably 30mins to be called for giving them my papers. Soon again, they called my number for my finger prints, and then I waited for about 2 hours for my interview.
I really was nervous like I even was having trouble holding a pen.lol The interviewer tried to calm me down. He was a nice guy! I think he was the oldest one in all the interviewers. well we started our conversation. During the interview, he asked me---
How did you guys get to know each other?
When was the first time you saw him?
When did he ask you to marry him?
Did you just graduate from university? or do you work? (even I only am 19.lol)
there were more questions that i can't remember but they sure were easy.
and it's more like conversation not like asking you so many things. so just enjoy the conversation and you will pass without any problems

Spouse changed passports (from maiden name to married name) after NVC stage but before interview. We called the embassy beforehand to notify them. They said it would be okay. It was fine. She got her visa in her new passport, under her married name.
No abnormal questions in the interview. The visa was processed one day later and arrived by mail three days later.
