what I do for work.
what she does for work.
where we will get married.
whether I use other names.
how old I am and how old she is.

Appointment was for 10:00 AM and my wife was able to have her mother go with her inside of the embassy and wait for the interview, which was really nice and helpful. Once inside, she waited for about 90 minutes to be called for her interview,
The actual interview was really fast, only about 10 minutes.
The interviewer asked a few basic questions; when did you meet your husband? Where did you meet? Has he been to Japan to meet your family? Have you met his family? Nothing tricky or in depth at all.
The interviewer asked for all of the documentation on the checklist available from the embassy and also asked for updated 2016 1040 and W2 forms. I was prepared for that and had sent it (original forms were submitted to NVC in January before tax due day) and my wife had everything else she needed.
Visa Approved!
