Me and my finance arrived at the embassy around 7:10am. Our appointment was at 8:30am. We entered the embassy around 8:00am. The ladies with the yellow shirts gathered our paper work (DS156, D156K, DS157 & proof of visa payment). We entered through security (no cell phones, liquid gels, etc.). We passed the group of people sitting outside (visiting visa applicants) and went through the door, where a gentleman handed us a yellow slip and our number A140.
We waited about 1 1/2 hours before our number was called. A lady requested a copy of our documents (she was not very friendly, never made eye contact). She fingerprinted my fiance and then requested we be seated, and await our same number to be called.
We waited another 30 minutes or so. A white american male requested to see my finance\'s passport and asked me to be seated while he asked him some questions.

Our interview was scheduled July 22, 2010 @ 9:00am. We got to the US embassy at 8:10am. The lady with the clipboard asked for DS156, DS156k, DS157, my fiance's passport pics, the appointment letter and the visa receipt. Once we were inside, we waited for our number to be called. Once it was called. He was asked the following:
Have you ever traveled to US?
When did you meet your fiance?
The second time, third time, fourth time and so forth
My child's name and dob?
who does he live with in Jamaica?
Then the IO asked me:
when did we meet?
the dates when I traveled to Jamaica?
His child's name?
After the interview, he asked for my fiance's passport and stated that his passport has been approved.
Please keep in mind to bring the following evidence: Phone history, W2 2008 & W2 2009 tax papers, bank statements, employment offer letter, pictures, receipt of the engagement ring, paystubs (at least three m... read complete review

My visa was approved today, 7/19/2010. Thanks to everyone for all the support!!! I am soooo excited. My hubby came to Jamaica to join me. We went inside the embassy about 7:30am. We had to stand and wait for windows 8 and 9 to start interviewing people in order to get a seat. We were only allowed to sit in the chairs that became vacant after those persons went to Windows 8 and/or 9.
About 9:30am we were called to Window 5. CO asked for my passport, medical, pictures and police record. She asked \"Have you ever been to the US?" and "Have you ever spent more than 6 months.\" Then I gave my fingerprints. CO said I needed to pay $4 differential fee due the increase in fees. Hey, the lady wanted to know if I would be paying that today? Huh? Like I was gonna go home and come back another day in order to pay $4. My fiance's interview was scheuduled for 9am July 15th. He arrived to the Embassy by 7am. I had to wait PATIENTLY for hours (approx. 5hrs) for his call...My phone rang at 12:00pm to hear him on the end say, "I was approved!" was a relief. He said the IO only asked him a few questions:
Where did we meet?
How did we meet?
Where do I live?
Do I have roommate?
Is she comfortable with the him living with us?
Then he thanked him for being so organized...All of his papers were in order and paper clipped together. Whew!! I am sooo happy I will be with my babe soon! Good luck everyone! javascript:emoticon(' ')
