Review Topic: K1 Visa

Well i had a 9:30 appointment and i reached the embassy at about 15 or 20 minutes after 9. My boo was there with me and that made me feel a little more comfortable..First thing as we approach the embassy a man in green asked for the ds-156, ds-157 ds-156k (in duplicates), passport pictures and passport. Note: Your fiance(e) can go in with you. Unfortunately my boo didnt thats a long story. We were sent in. Did security check and was sent striaght inside passed alot of people on the outside waiting for interview for visitor visa. When i went inside a lady at a front desk asked for my passport and asked to see my documents which the guy on the outside in green looked at (he stapled my photo to them) and then she gave me a yellow paper and told me to write my passport number on it, gave me a number(A148) and told me to go sit on the right hand side of the embassy. It wasnt so full so i sat and wait for my number to come up on the screen to be called. I was finally called to widow 6 and a ... read complete review

I compiled a pretty good folder for my fiancé to bring to the embassy. I strongly believe this helped move things along for him. Everything was neatly organized. While I hadn’t been down there since August 2011...I was very concerned on not having enough evidence of an ongoing relationship. I provided MANY pages of phone records, western union receipts, bank statements etc. I also sent him little letters and a card or two to bring as well. And I sent him photos of our apartment, my kids, home etc. The CO took a look at everything. Commented about how many phone calls we share and even looked at the pictures. They were even discussing my cat and dog. Hey...whatever it takes! Questions she asked:

When did you meet?
How did you meet?
Does she have children?
Have you met them?
Where do I work?
What do I do?
And my favorite question...what do you love about her? His response...."everything...I could go on and on...but she... read complete review

My husband did his interview today. He was approved. He was asked only two questions. The first one was how we met and did he have a copy of our son's birth certificate.

Review Topic: IR-5 Visa

My mom was only asked two questions. Who is the petitioner? and What do you plan to do once you get to the US? Then she was approved!!

She was in and out in a 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I had my follow-up appointment today - June 27, 2012 - and I got my CR1 visa and visa package in hand. Yayyyyyyy! OK, here's the LONG story, starting with the backstory.

When the CO instructed me last week to find a joint sponsor, they also cancelled my visitor visa AND my work permit, which is the usual procedure. However, that was a problem for me because I broke my work schedule in the USA to return to Jamaica for the iV interview. I pointed that out to the CO, who consulted with her colleagues then instructed me to re-apply for my work permit, then get an emergency date for that interview, so I could get back to work while my joint-sponsor and IV story was being sorted out.

I decided to focus on finding a joint sponsor. My husband worked the phones and we got 2 joint sponsors. When we got the paperwork for the first one, I scanned the info: I-864, W2s, pay stubs, citizenship evidence - as well as evidence of my work and work-related travel schedu... read complete review
