Our (myself and hubby) experience at the initial phase was consistent with that of other reviewers so I will cut straight to inside the embassy. We were called to window 7 initially where a woman checked off our items and gave us back some original documents which we were quite surprised at. She also asked who filed for me to which i responded with hubby's name.
We went back to sit but the room was full so we stood to the side near the bathroom, chit chatting. I was half paying attention to what was going on around us. The gentleman by the name of rohan (if i remember correctly) was coming by cracking jokes trying to break the tension (which he was successful at). About 20 - 30 mins after we were standing on the side they started interviewing ppl. When one big family got up we sat down and continued chatting. I was sitting to the back and the interviewers were speaking softly for the most part so I could hardly hear some of the interviews. However I saw one cou... read complete review

Well, we had a K-3 visa interview at the Embassy in Jamaica yesterday and they really hassled us. Told us to come back today for 2nd interview- which was really a heavy investigation. At this time, they put my wife in a sealed room and grilled her for over 1 1/2 hours, then me for 1/2 hour. Then they said they will make a report in a couple of days and the visa unit will \"contact\" us. So, what\'s the problem , you ask. They don\'t tell us, but we do have a big age difference, and they had questions about when we met. But, on the other hand, we have extensive trips together, phone calls, Western Union, photos, etc. There was no real reason for this type of treatment. Now, we are stuck in a hotel paying every day, and no idea when or what they will do.... So much for approved K-3 visas !!

We arrived at the consulate a little early for our 9:00 a.m. appointment on January 13, 2010. We provided our interview letter,4 passport photos, and both copies of 156,156k, and the 157 to a lady out front before we were allowed in through security screening. The lady pointed out some things that we missed that needed to be filled in on the forms. Please have a pen!! We went through security and then filled out the missing info on the forms that were circled. We checked in and was given number A136. We were told to go into the right of the building to have a seat. We waited for what seemed like forever before we heard our number being called. We went up to window 5 and was asked to provide interview letter,4 passport photos, and both copies of 156,156k, and the 157. We were also asked for non-impediment record, police certification, and the I-134, with my 2008 W-2 and tax transcript. We were told to go to get my fiance's fingerprints and then come back and have a seat and wait for ou... read complete review

We arrived at the consulate at 8:45 our appointment was for 9:30am. we provided all of our paper work to the woman at the door, when we entered we were given a number A149, which was called we provided the woman with all of the information, then they sent us to go get finger printed, we sat there the whole time praying, because he had admitted to smoking marijuana 2 years ago, so we were worried, because of what I had read on here. Any way we were called up to window 8, and a young blonde American asked us to hold our right hand up to swear to tell the truth so we did. then she opened up and envelope and asked me to sit down and asked him to pick up the phone so he did. And the woman asked him when was the last time he did drugs, he does not do drugs, so she denied him, and told him to come back December 2012.

The appointment was at 7am and we arrived at 620am. There were two lines and we were directed to the one closest to the embassy entrance. We waited about 20 mins before being called in and going through security.
From here, we had to walk through a courtyard, where we were able to put our belts back on that we were required to remove during the security check. We entered a differen building where we were checked in with others and were directed to one of two areas. The area to the left appeared to be for those looking visitor visas and the area to the right, where we were sent after being assigned a number, seemed to hold those who had someone filng for them.
After about 20 minutes our number was called and they took my husband's fingerprints and confirmed that they had everything that was sent from NVC. We sat back down and soon afterward everyone else had been called to do the same.
About 45 minutes later, they started calling pe... read complete review
