My husband got there at 6:00 with his sister they both had an interview same day.at the border they were not letting some people in cuz of the problems there right now, they turned away lot of people who had interviews. when he got there he showed the people at the boarder his pass and his interview letter they told him "No, come back tommarow" he told them i cant i have my interview. then his sister came and told them. he is with me we both have an interview. Then they let him pass. he got to the Embassy a 8:30 they gave him his number and he waited. I don't know how the process goes with other consulates, but our experience with the consulate in Jerusalem has not been very good at all. First, we tried to request a specific interview date to coincide with my office's end-of-year shut down, which was denied. Instead, we were given a date in early December after explicitly saying that we could not make it in early December, as Nirit was out of the country. So we had to reschedule for Jan. 19, and I took a week of vacation and made travel plans to attend the interview with her. We got to the interview 45 minutes early and stood in a short line. Upon reaching the front of the line, we were directed to a window where we produced our interview letter. The man behind the window scanned a sheet and found Nirit's name and told her to go inside to the reception area. I, however, was told to wait outside, which is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. Why would a U.S. consulate deny entrance to a U.S. citizen for any reason, mu... read complete review

Just wanted to let you know that my husband passed his interview to get CR-1 visa in US Consulate in Jerusalem on September 3, 2009. Everything was very smoothly, the CO just asked a few questions about how did we meet? where and with whom do I live and the name of my mother. Also he asked about his previous marriage, about the kids, he return the original birth certificate and also the extra copy of marriage and divorce certificates. CO said that the visa will be issued in 30 days, asked my husband one more contact phone number and the address. The interview started at 8:30 a.m. and my husband left the consulate around 10 a.m. Thank you all for the support and good luck to everyone with your upcoming interview.
