Interview was at 1pm, I was third on the que outside the Embassy. I was called into the security check area, I had a friend with me so i left my bag with her, it made my life a little easier and the gaurds seemed to laugh at the fact that i had nothing other than my paperwork with me, They were very plesant and helpful, they took my details then sent me on my way to the embassy itself.
I walked in, there were 2 other people waiting for the k1, I made small talk with the lady who was ahead of me, she actually helped calm me down, I was SUPER stressed out. As she had gone ahead i saw her face kinda drop, turned out she had forgot something, anyway, then i paniced again wondering if i had actually got everything. One piece of advice i will give.....DO NOT WORRY!!!its not that bad. She camer back and said they wouldn't accept her birth certificate as an authorised form because she had only had a copy of it stamped by the gaurds.

After getting through security we headed up the ramp to the interview office. There were only a few immig visa's being issued that day, but a lot of students and work visas. We were called up the the first interview within 20 mins and gave our forms, police and birth cert, and call records. About 30 mins later we were called up to the window to do the interview. It was a young American that smiled and was very nice. He asked simple questions like: How did you meet? When did you get engaged? What does your fiancee do? How long have you been in Ireland? What are your future plans? and a few other questions that are specific to our case. He then asked me (the american) some simple questions about our future plans and said we were approved  . He didn't want any extra proof such as recent photos, emails, msn, letters, or anything like that. I put a lot of stuff in my orginal I-129f package and he seemed very pleased that he didn't have to ask for more relationship proof.... read complete review

Arrived at the Embassy at one o'clock precisely, as per instructions on the packet 4 letter. Through the gate security where they x-rayed my bag and took my mobile phone, and on into the Embassy itself where the helpful security asked what I was there for and got me a number from the ticket machine.
It was a pretty quiet day for visa applications - there were two people ahead of me. One was there as he had won a Green Card lottery and another who was also in for their K-1 interview. There were a few problems with the number calling machines but I was eventually called to the window after about half an hour where my documents were checked, and then on to the cashier window to pay my visa fee. It was then back to the waiting area where I chatted with my fellow applicants. After about another 40 minutes of waiting one of them was called up, but returned after a couple of minutes - they had missed a signature. Then my name was called. On 23rd of Febuary, I got a letter with interview date of March 9th 2009. Which seemed very sudden after 10months of waiting for I-129F approval. It only barely gave enough me time for the medical (I went with Dr Damian Rutledge rather Dr Tim Glesson, who I used in May 2008, as the time of result was 48hours against a week). Then I noted that my Police Certificate from April 2008 could out of date(it turned out it was) so I applied for another a donnybrook gardai station. I met a gardai over the following weekend I was first in the 1pm appointment queue. And we molety crew of families, couples, some people of their own, like me. They would not take an extra 3 cents from me.
They ask for letters, but were safitied with a collection christmas,valetines,brithday cards. It might been I have to the USA so often and that was here quite often but they did quite ask for much proof of relationship besides the my statement under oath. They sent the outdated version of DS-156K so make sure you get the new one online!
He got there at about 12:30. Was seen about 2:00. There were about 4 people in line. They told him because his birth cert last name was spelled different from his passport he'd have to go somewhere and get an insert in his passport but they weren't very clear at all about what he needed to do, and that's still not sorted. He had to take the train all the way home and he'll have to make phone calls to figure out what to do and then go back. So they checked that he had all his documents, then he paid the cashier, then did his fingerprints, then interviewed. He was approved but he has to get his birth cert issue settled.
