The counselor that interviewed Mahshid was very nice. He said that because we have an unusual relationship he wanted to do the interview in English not Farsi to prove that we could communicate (Mashid was fine with this as her English if very good). The wait was about an hour and a half to start the interview… Mahshid said everyone was very polite and accommodating. I think we overdid the documentation as she walked into the interview with a 5” stack of papers and came back with most of them. The counselor was very nice and took time to listen to Mahshid’s responses and made sure she understood the questions… I would love to thank him personally if I could! Mahshid went into the interview a little nervous because of the importance of the task but relaxed once she met the wonderful staff in Yerevan. I would highly recommend this embassy and I would also highly recommend visiting Armenia… we spent two weeks there and fell in love with the country!!

My husband had his interview 1/24/2017. He is Iranian, so I came from America and he came from Iran. We stayed in a flat in Yerevan for a week before and a few days after his interview. First we did his medical appointment. No one spoke English, but they did speak Farsi, which was nice. His medical was on a Friday, and the interview was on Tuesday. He went to pick up his medical sheet on Monday and brought it with him to the interview. For the actual interview, we arrived about an hour early, but the security officer told us we would be waiting in the cold outside, because she could not let us in. Therefore, we came back exactly 15 minutes before the start time. They actually kept us waiting outside passed his scheduled start time, and a crowd other people with similar start times began to show up. They finally started letting people in one at a time, but first everyone's passport had to be checked with the security guard out front. My husband was fine, as his name was on the interview... read complete review

Interview was June 23, 2016 at 8:00am.

Arrived in Montreal on the 15th, medical on the 16th. Stayed in Montreal until the 24th since hubby lives too far away to make going back and forth ludicrous. Picked up medical on the 21st.

Arrived at the consulate at 7:30am and parked in the Safeway lot directly across the street from the entrance to the consulate (looks like a small alleyway). Had all our documents in a couple of medium sized shopping bags. 23 month old son was with us so packed a couple diapers and wipes and an empty sippy cup to put in the bags.

Waited about 20 minutes to be let in. Checked interview appointment letter and hubby's passport. For myself and the toddler, he just asked if we were both US citizens. Didn't bother to check our passports. Went through security screening and then downstairs to wait for the elevator. Once we got herded into the elevator arrived upstairs to the waiting area. DA160s were told to get in line a... read complete review

My fiancee's experience at the consulate was very good. My fiancee has a bachelor's degree in english, so she did the interview in English without an interpreter. My fiancee was interviewed by a lady CO. My fiancee stated that the lady CO was very kind and professional. They asked her about 10 questions; the typical ones such as "How did you meet?", "have you met his parents?","how will you deal with having different religions?" (We are both secular, so our religious beliefs are very similar). At the end of the interview the lady conducting the interview said the visa is approved and will arrive in about 5 business days. We picked up the passport with the visa about 3 business days later.
