She went in at around 7:30 AM.
At 7:45 AM, American officer took finger prints and took interview letter.
After that she sat down for 10 mins.
Then they called her to window number 7 and asked if she needed an interpreter.
Then they took Original passport and asked if she had her old passport. Then they gave back old passport.
After that they returned the original documents and copies that she submitted with DS-230.
Then Indian officer asked:
Where are you going?
Who’s calling you?
Gave my dad's name and asked if she knew him? Who is he?
Gave my name and asked if she knew me? Who is he?
Go sit, they will call u.

She waited, waited, and waited..........
Then she was called in at 11:15 AM to window number 9.

I went to the Consulate early morning at 7 as my interview was at 7:30am.
Waited in the stars & stripes lounge at VFS office after which the bus took
us to the consulate which is just down the road but you avoid the
troublesome long queue outside Consulate. After going through the security
checks they took my finger prints and asked me to wait. In a short while I
was called and the (Indian) lady officer gave me back my Birth Certificate &
Passport copy and asked me for Bank Draft & Financial support docs as VFS
did not ask for the same when I went in to submit my docs a week ago. After
I submitted the docs the lady asked me a few questions which I dont remember
now and also asked if I hold Visa for any other countries to which I replied
YES- UK tourist Visa. She asked for how long did I visit UK? I replied 10-12
days. She asked me to wait in the hall for my name will be called for the
interview. This wa... read complete review

The interview process itself was smooth. I waited outside while she was in the consulate itself.
She waited in there for about 3 hours for a 5 minute interview. They wanted to see pics of the wedding (Since it was a Hindu wedding, they wanted to see pics of the part where we walked around the fire)
They asked for my name
where in USA will she be living
asked where I worked
asked for pics of my parents attending the wedding
asked if it was arranged or a love marriage.
Asked who introduced us together.
She asked how many times I have visited India. When my wife said 6 times, the consulate officer was shocked as to how many times i visited.
my wife then stated that me and my dad was waiting outside the consulate and showed them our passports.

At that point the consulate officer was satisfied. She approved it and sent my wife out the door.

The consulate was easy, but the hard part was dealing... read complete review

I went along with my fiance to the interview. They asked very simple and straight forwward questions. We were there for about 2 hours. I would say overall our experience was good. Questions asked were
1)Is our marriage arranged?
2)How did we meet?
3)How many times have I come to India in the last 1 year?
4)why did u choose to get married in the US?

Very good experience. There was some confusion regarding the exchange rate since the website had outdated information. I pointed this out to the cashier who at first suggested that I made a mistake in getting my demand draft. I showed him the page that had the wrong information and he apologized and took care of the cash imbalance. The interviewer was polite and simple. He asked straightforward questions and the interview (over the counter) was over in about 10 minutes. (You can contact me if you have any particular questions about this embassy.)
