My wife stayed at the swaminarayan mandir across from the VFS office. She got to the VFS office and got on the bus that takes them to the embassy.

Then came the security check. Then the fingerprinting. Then she waited till her name was called by the pre-screener. She was asked these questions (as much as she could remember):

when did u get married?
how did u come in contact with husband?
what attracted you to marry him?
is this ur first marraige?
have u been outside india before?
where is your husband living?
Where did you go for honeymoon?

Then she waited for around 2 hours for the interview with the CO. The CO is behind a glass window. The prescreener was also present with my wife. She signed the DS230. Then she was asked some of the same questions as the prescreening. Additional questions asked are below:

How do you two keep in touch?
husband's personal history about how he c... read complete review

I, my wife (the interviewee) and my parents got there at 7:30 AM and got in line. the rude security gaurds outside tried shoo us non-interviewees out of the line, but we triumphed and stayed on till she got to the front of the line (at about 7:50 or so). They checked her interview letter and passport and then security frisked her and she was in.
now the account inside from my wife:
At the security check area , the lady opened all envelopes, sealed it ,sent me inside .
I was asked to wait at a corner seat after an elderly lobby assistant collected my interview letter .By 9:30 An Indian consulate officer called me to counter and started pre screening . He asked when did i get married and asked for my wedding invite .
Asked to write my name in mother tongue in DS230 and asked to sign it.
He asked what my husband does there , how many siblings do i have .When i told him i have a younger brother he asked what does he do . He also asked how many siblings ... read complete review

Well my Papi got there early (around 8:30am) and he was greeted by a short older lady (possibly Chinese) who riddled him with inappropriate questions. She kept asking him why was he not married(seeing as he is 39 years old) and why would he want to marry a foreigner and not an Indian girl. I guess it is a sin to be over the age of 35 and not married? So she takes his paper work and disappears. He waits, and waits, and waits. He is then interviewed by an Indian man. They interrogate him for one and a half hours. Repeatedly asking him why he is not married, why won't he stay there with his mother, why would he give up his career, and so on and so forth. Meanwhile the short old lady is calling his job and mother (without his knowledge).

The lady called his mother's house asking where was his wife! His mother baffled tells the woman he was not home and he has no wife. So what does she do, she calls his job! Luckily his good friend and co-worker was there to answer. She aske... read complete review
