The interview was smooth. The reviews helped a lot in the preparation. The interview was done by a nice lady CO. She asked me the following questions
-Who is calling you?
-How did you meet?
-When did you get married?
-What do you like most about him?
-Where is he in US?
-What does he do in US?
-What do you understand from the domestic violence pamphlet?

She smiled and said my visa is approved and I can pick up my passport within a week. She also gave instructions to pay the ELIS fees. I managed to get out within an hour from entering the consulate.
All together a smooth experience and everyone there was mostly helpful.

My previous review was incomplete and I can't edit it, so rest of my review goes here. After sorting single applicants and multiple applicants from same family in two lines, I think the single applicants were dealt with first. I was given a review sheet, a paper explaining legal rughts available to immigrant victims and another paper asking to arrange my documents in the following order:

1. DS-260 Confirmation page
2. Two photographs 2x2 inches
3. Medical report (No X-ray report needed)
4. Police clearance certificate from the passport office
5. Original and photocopy of birth/marriage/divorce decree certificate
6. I-864, I864A and updated tax returns

I was also given a token number and asked to wait opposite a window. When my token number was displayed on the screen, I went to the window where a pleasant Indian lady greeted me and confirmed my name, my parents' names, contact information and asked whether interview in E... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My interview was on November 7, 2014, at 7:30 a.m. and I was asked to be at the Mumbai Consulate by 7:15 a.m. I reached the consulate by 7:10 a.m. and already two lines were formed outside. I knew from VJ that the shorter line was of IV applicants and I immediately joined the line. Applicants were asked to take out the passport and DS-260 confirmation page with stamp of OFC. At 7:15 a.m., the applicants were let inside. The officer checked my papers and asked if I had my OFC at Hyderabad. First enclosure was security check. Everyone was asked to take out watches, bags, coats and put through the X-ray machine. I just carried my documents in a clear plastic folder and nothing else. Here many people were delayed and I went past them. Outside, I was about the 16th applicant in line. Past the security check, I was about the 8th applicant. Next, we crossed a lawn and sat outside the building where interview was to take place. It was a heavy security area and we were let inside at 7:30 a.m. A... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Interview Date: 01/27/2014
Time: 10:30 AM
I did the biometrics on the 25th and reached the consulate @ 10:15 AM. There was practically no line. Like 5 people in front of me. I was in the embassy in like 5 minutes. I was given a number and asked to wait. Inside, there were about 15 people waiting. Two minutes later, we were asked to go into the building. All the people present were K1s or CR1s etc. My number flashed on the screen and I went to the window. The CO asked me for my papers and then my medical. He asked me my fiance's name and where she lived. Then he handed me a 221(g) for original letter from her employer verifying employment. I was asked to file the waivers for my prior deportation. That was it. I was in and out of the place within 22 minutes. Great experience and a very positive outcome.
