Review Topic: K1 Visa

Interviews for K-1 showed available dates once a week at the end of the week. Ours was April 30th given May 1st was a Holiday, set for 9:00am.

Biometrics went smoothly previous day (9:30am apt) and done within hour if I recall.

Interview day, got there at 7:45a for the 9a. Guard said to wait a while. 8:15 checked again, and they let me stay in line. At some point, they asked K-1 in.

Had docs checked by an Indian.
Waited about 40m with token and was seen by consular.
Had some very basic questions: fiance's name, where did you meet, asked about engagement pictures, one or two other basic questions and said congrats! you'll get your visa on the passport in 2-3 days.

No status change til following Wed,
Was in Administrative Processing for 2 days
Finally said Issued and then when delivered to HYD "Ready for Pickup"

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

* Lined up at the consulate 45 minutes before the appointment.
* Went inside at 7:30am.
* Went to the first window where they collected requested documents and prepared a file for the immigration officer.
* Was provided with Domestic Violence information.
* Went to the second window when my ticket number was called and was asked few basics questions: Who is the petitioner? What does he do? How did you meet? Do you understand your rights with Domestic Violence?
* They did not ask for any other information to prove our marriage, although I had taken a photo album, itineraries, phone records, affidavit from wedding guest, etc.

The actual interview probably didn't last more than five minutes. Took my oath and I was done!

Officer asked me mostly general questions about me, my wife and both our families, reviewed all documents, asked for a missing document. I submitted that missing document photocopy with my original passport to one of the 'drop off' center and I received my passport back with valid visa on 5th day of submission.

Review Topic: F-2A Visa

First of all Thank you VJ for helping me through out the process. My wife and son visa got approved on 20th April. CEAC status showed issued on the same day of the Interview. The next day which is 21st, we have picked up our passports. Here is how the interview went.

Our interview was scheduled at 8:30 AM but we went there by 6:55 AM. When we requested the security and VFS, they let us in at 7:00 AM. As a petitioner I was allowed. Security check completed, then directed to counter 1 for getting the token. Anybody with family based category were told to sit down first before the tokens were issued. After 30 min. of waiting we got our token.

Got the call from Indian counselor. Standard questions. My wife requested translator (Telugu). Here they are

1. What is your Husband's name.
2. what is his address.
3. What is your Mother's maiden name? (She entered into the system)
4. Do you work?
5. is This your first marriage... read complete review
