Overall interview went really smooth.
My husband had an interview in Mumbai at 7:30 AM he stood on the immigration line which was very short and he was 5th person in line. He got in around 7 AM.
Once they entered there was security check. Then they organized his documents and gave a token.
Then they called our the token and the Indian lady asked many questions:
1) Who is calling you?
2) What's your name?
3) Where do you live?
4) Where do you work?
5) When did you get married?
6) What do you do for living?
She also asked for my W2 (not sure why? this was not required but then she returned it right away)
Then another wait for the final phase of the interview:
1) Who is calling you?
2) What does she do?
3) Which state does she live?
4) What do you do?
5) Does she cook?
6) Which is your favorite food that she cooks?

Arrived at 8 am for 8;30 am appt - would recommend arriving earlier than 8 to be one of first to receive token number.
I (US Petitioner) was allowed to attend without any issues at all.
There were 3 instances to interact with embassy staff:
1. Get your token number ~8:30 AM
2. Document collection and inspection ~ 9;30 AM
3. Interview with consular officer ~ 12:00 PM
as you can see, we waited a long time for the consular interview, but the officer was extremely friendly and personable, asking standard questions like where did we meet, did he read the pamphlet on domestic abuse, did i meet his family, etc. I just stood there next to him while he answered the questions.
Total didnt take longer than 10 mins and it seemed more like a formality than an actual interview. So happy!
Overall great experience at the consulate save for the VERY long wait which left us hangry haha

Preet and I were very nervous leading up to our interview. There is a 15 year age difference between us, with me being the elder, married previously and having children from my previous marriage. Knowing that these were three very big red flags, we were prepared to face a tough interview. However, our experience was quite to the contrary.
Preet and I have been dating for 3-1/2 years and have been engaged since June of 2014. Our Petition was approved back in Nov 2014, but rather than move forward at that time, Preet was offered a management job in Dubai. While we were eager to be together, we realized that him obtaining this experience would be invaluable and would enable him to find a job in the USA much quicker. With that in mind, we made the decision to postpone things for a little longer so that he could capitalize on this opportunity. Very good start of Intervew.
I will detail as much as I can do other can get help ( if you need more help feel free to PM )
My wife had Intervew at 7:30 she was at embassy by 6:20 and there were people already lined outside. She got in at 7:00
I tried my best to get in ( my flight was delayed and did not made it to embassy by 7:30 )
YES IF YOU ARE PATTITIONAR AND USC YOU CAN GET IN. If guards won't let you in hand them a Mumbai embassy Doccunent check list it says there that you can.
As she was inside Indian person organized her Doccunents and gave her ticket / tokan to follow
Be very careful and listen to your number and get to Windows ASAP or rude Indian staff will be mad!

My husband and I arrived at 7:30 for his 8AM interview. From the taxi, we proceeded to the cue. We were near the front of the line. We had heard NOT to bring any cellphones or anything that would have to be checked in ---as things have gone missing.
I had a letter from my Congresswoman (who was following our case)stating that I could attend the interview. I knew that ultimately this would be at the discretion of the Embassy. I carried the letter with my passport. I was allowed inside. I was stunned at how easy this was.
There were two lines...one for immigrant visas and one for nonimmigrant. The immigrant was line was significantly shorter. Once inside, we were seated in the immigrant section, the Embassy staff (Indian) made sure that our documents were in order...interview appointment letter, DS 260 letter, medical report, police clearance certificate, etc. and then handed them back to my husband.
