Her interview was at 8:30 and she got there at 8:15. After she was let in she was asked to start organizing Medical package, ds260 confirmation, copy of civil docs, etc in particular order and wait to be called.
She was called by the local Indian employee first and asked the following:
- Are you working?
- Mother's maiden name?
- Visited other countries before? Any more than 1 year?
She returned her originals and took the passport.
After which she was given a token and she waited for almost 2 hours to be called:
Asked the following by the CO:
- Love or arranged marriage?
- How'd we meet?
- What I do for a living?
- You went to school in the US, right? (My wife did her Masters in the US)
- Congrats you are approved :-)
Very simple process, other than the wait.

Interview went smoothly.
They said,I'll get the visa in a week's time
Reached Mumbai US Consulate at 7:30 am after a 25 min cab ride from Hotel Courtyard Marriott. Allowed to join the line at 8:00 am for 8:30 interview. Documents verified by Indian lady officer including 2013 tax transcripts who returned all documents original as well as copy. Waited for 45 minutes before interview by American lady officer. All standard questions such as how you met, arranged marriage or love marriage, whether all religious ceremonies were completed for marriage, when did husband meet you last, in which city does your husband live, by which visa husband went to US initially etc. Surprised she did not ask to see wedding photos. Interview was over in 20 min. Came out of Consulate around 10:30 am. Overall a pleasant experience!
