I had my interview on Monday, 12th of December 2022 with an 8am appointment. Aside the fairly long waiting time to get interviewed, it was an okay experience. I went in around 8:05am and came out around 11:30 am.
The first part of the interview was swift as I went to the window of a Ghanaian lady who took my original documents (Marriage cert, Birth cert, Passport, one U.S sized passport picture and police report). She then asked for financial evidence and proof of relationship. For financial evidence, I submitted Affidavit of support, Tax returns and W2's (all updated) and for proof of relationship, I submitted printed chats from whatsapp and facebook messengers, email exchanges, western union receipts, postal receipts and passport pages of my wife's trips to Ghana. While the embassy is unable to give you any indication of when they might post new appointments, we were able to schedule one within a month and a week of the permission being granted. My fiance was approved pending the receipt of his medical paperwork. He was in the embassy for more than 4 hours and had a 20-minute appointment where they asked quite a large number of questions about our relationship and my parents and their jobs and my job etc. We are happy to have this stage through so we can be together finally

The Embassy took and scanned the Affidavit of Support and updated tax returns (we had not made any updates for the last two years our case was pending at NVC).
My husband apparently had a blast with the interview because the CO was quite friendly and nowhere "rigid" as he had anticipated. Questions asked:
- How did you meet?
- When did you propose?
- When did you get married?
- How many times has your wife visited you in Ghana? (He talked about our last trip to Dubai and attending the Expo that led to a tangential conversation about how nice the Expo experience was. Then the CO looked at our photos. None of the other supporting documents were asked for during the interview.)
- What work does your wife do?
Then came the magic words! Super thrilled that we are finally here!
Also, note that applicants spend about 2-3 hours at the Embassy going through the entire interview process. After reading revie... read complete review
