Review Topic: General Review

My then fiancé and I applied for a K1 visa and were denied in 2013 because the CO did not believe we had a genuine relationship. We then got married the following week in Accra and applied for a Spousal visa and our interview was on March 25. I frontloaded (sent a lot of documents, photos, timeline of our relationship, facebook chats, whatsapp, etc.) the application and sent some more information for my husband to take with him. I also sent an email to the consulate to let them know that I was unable to attend due to work schedule. My husband said he was only asked a few questions about my daughter, his children and how we plan to raise them together, why I made less in 2013 and then handed a 221g to come back in a month with my tax document for 2014. I am glad this journey is almost over and looking forward to my husband getting here.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

The interview went really well, the lady asked a lot about my travel experience and when my fiance visited Ghana. Trust me, I had lads of evidence and pictures, she even wanted to keep two of my pictures with my fiance.

She gave me back my evidence and passport and gave a 221(g) temporary denial form, she ticked administrative processing, and instead of a return date, she wrote "will call", her reason being that she has a few things to do on her side so she will call me once shes done.

I was a bit confused but im looking on the brighter side.

Has this happened to anyone else? What do you think?

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance arrived at the Embassy and showed them the appointment letter, then had a seat. They called him up for the documents, then he had a seat. Then they called him up for the payment, then he had a seat (lots of turning stuff in and then sitting and waiting.) He got called back to the interview. The officer was a woman and the questions were pretty extensive. She asked about my jobs - current and previous. She asked a lot of questions about my family; what we did for Thanksgiving, if they had ever been separated or divorced (they had been separated when I was younger, so she asked further questions about that.) She asked why my father hadn't come to Indonesia with my mother to visit me and my fiance (We met while we were both living and working in Indonesia.)

Regarding our relationship she asked if either of us have children or had been previously married, but nothing about how we met or how long we had been together, etc. Very odd. They did show him some o... read complete review

All i can say today is glory be to God. my wife went for her first interview on Nov 17, and after 4 hours of questioning, this CO handed to her white slip 221g(AP) and told her to come back on Dec 15. one week after the interview, this officer called my wife on phone and told her everything about her papers is ok but she will need affidavit of support since my income was not enough to support her. This was after i have submitted AOS to NVC and was approved or recommended for approval. upon informing me i emailed the embassy for clarification and i got the AOS and mailed to my wife.

my wife went to the embassy around 1100AM todaySINCE HER appointment WAS 1:00PM. after checking in and waiting for 3hours, this same consular officer called her to the window and just ask for her passport. and didn't ask her any question. ,congratulated her and gave her visa collection slip without even asking her about affidavit of support he called her one week after her first interview tha... read complete review

We arrived at the US embassy in Accra at 7.20am for our 7.30am appointment. Upon arrival, we joined a queue in front of the Consulate and after confirming we had an appointment from the Interview letter, we were allowed to enter at nearly 8am.

My husband was with me (hence the use of we) and I was worried he will not be allowed in since it was not yet 8am, but he was allowed to follow me in. We dropped off our phones and other electronic devices and made our way towards the main building. A security guard near the main office entrance asked us to sit outside and wait to be called in. However a few minutes later, we realized he had given us the wrong information because persons seated outside were actually those who were waiting to collect their DNA results. (Please take note to almost triple check any information that does not seem right when you get to the embassy)

Anyway, we lost a bit of time and moved further down the queue as a result of this mix-up ... read complete review
