My fiance went to the consulate as instructed to pick up his visa and unable to pick up after 6hrs of long wait. They did not have his packet together. They were asking ridiculous questions like, Oh did you submit your police report. Evidently they have misplaced it and has delayed him picking up his visa since he was approved February 16th. Today is March 12th you will think they will have everything ready for him.... Very unhappy with them at this point. Very disorganized and ineffecient. The sad thing is they are so non chalant about the whole situation. They advised him to come back next friday.

To deal with the U.S embassy in Ghana you have to have a lot of patience. My fiancee made a lot of trips to the embassy becasue they kept asking for rediculous things. If u share address with opposite sex make sure u notify ur fiancee who that person is. Because of this stupid address issue it took 4 months after his first interview to finally get his visa.In the end we had to pay for him to get his medicals done again because they told us the one he did had expired, when it was their fault that they delayed by giving him a long appt date just to bring a letter to them.
All I can say is don't have high expectations when ur fiancee goes to his/her interview. Relax and just hope for the best.They can really get on ur very last nerve.

Rescheduled. No interview until 3/22/10. Hope that explains it.

So my fiance's original interview date was feb 1st but after 2hrs of waiting with about 100 others they were told due to one of the interviewing officers calling in sick they had to reschedule. Now i'm thinking maybe a week or so but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! a whole 7weeks. Needless to say we are now bumped to March 18th.

I am the USC, and I did not personally attend the interviews. My husband's first interview was Oct 08; he brought in all of his documents and they were received by a Ghanaian lady who kept pictures, phone records, and some other pieces of evidence, then gave the binder back to my husband. She then called him to a desk where a consular officer was sitting already looking through his documents. He was greeted by a stern, Asian male, who was cold and asked questions related to when we met, how long we knew one another before married, how many times i visited him, then told him that he didn't believe that I had visited that many times. He sent my husband away for Administrative processing, marked a document requesting he provide my passport stamps to verify the number of times I visited him before and after our marriage.
