It was a piece of cake.
I arrived in front of the embassy at 12:30, they told me to come back 10 or 15 minutes before the appointment time (1pm). So I waited and as soon as people started to go towards the guards, I followed them, the guard checked my appointment letter and my passport and let me enter. I was the second person to enter.
They took my cellphone and my ibuprofen, I didn't have any other "potentially dangerous" items. I took a ticket with a number (A111, easy to remember) and took a seat. There were lots of people sitting there (from the morning appointments). It is a big room with 18 "windows" around, but there were only 6 or 7 with people working behind them.
At 1pm they started calling the numbers starting by A. They took my appointment letter and the small part of my ticket. Then I went back to my seat.
The second time, another woman asked me if my address and my fiance's address had changed. She also asked when I was planning to go back to ... read complete review

Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing

Interview was on a Thursday. We arrived in Paris Wednesday morning and immediately went to have my blood drawn for the serology tests (5 min wait) because Dr. Meyers recommends completing this by 11AM the day before your interview to ensure all documentation will be finished in time. The serology results are sent directly to Dr. Meyers. Next we walked a few blocks to have a chest X-ray taken (1/2 hour wait), and you are given the chest film to keep until your doctor appointment. That afternoon I had scheduled the medical appointment with Dr. Meyers who speaks English and French fluently. Overall, all the places are within walking distance and the procedures were easy to complete.

The next day we arrived at 12:45 and were told that we were too early and should return in 10 minutes. After waiting, we passed through security, took a number from the machine, and then waited to be called to a window. Unfortunately we were last in line so things took awhile, but the process we... read complete review

Well, everything went ok. My interview was scheduled at 1pm. I had to go to the doctor first to give her my X-rays and get the envelop I had to give at my interview. I got at the Embassy at 12:50pm, there was a family waiting in line and we had to wait about 10 minutes before getting in the Embassy. They checked my bag, took my water bottle away and my cell phone.
It took two hours to get approved... First thing I did when I arrived was to take a receipt.. Then I waited for a while before being called at a first window. They took my receipt number and my appointment letter. They told me to go sit and wait. After about 45min, they called me at another window. The person there wasn't very nice, she spoke super fast, but that was ok. She took all the documents, I-134 and other support docs, the 2 exemplaries of signed DS-156 and the DS-156K. She complained because my photos were a bit to bright for her, but she took them all the same. She also took ... read complete review

The Paris Embassy handled everything ok. The first packet they sent with all the forms in it was not clear and referenced material relating to NON-immigrant visas even though we were getting an IMMIGRANT visa. After filling out what we thought was the correct paperwork and sending it to Paris we didn't hear anything back. After 2 weeks we contacted the Embassy and they said that we forgot to send DS-2001 (checklist) so they didn’t bother to set anything up or contact us that we forgot a form. After hearing this we immediately sent them the checklist and another 2 weeks later we were notified that we would have the interview. It took about 6 weeks from the time the packet was received to the interview date.
As for the interview, it went ok as well. The Embassy doesn’t let anybody in until 12:45. The first person at the window was rude like we were at the DMV. She said that forms weren’t filled out and that papers weren’t signed correctly. After dealing ... read complete review

I have to say that I was very nervous at the prospect of the interview... I had prepared everything in two examples and was ready to answer any kind of questions, even the most personal... But in the end it all went very well!!

I was called to a window and there a nice french lady started to ask me forms, passport pictures and other evidence of support. My fiancé had sent me a lot of things so she gave me back almost half of the papers! We went through all the forms, she asked me if me or my fiancé had been married, had kids. Then she took my fingerprints and asked if I had more paperwork to submit. I was about to say: emails, pictures, wedding registry... and she said I don't want that, it's all for the consul. Then she told me to go back to a seat and that the consul would call me at another window...
I waited a little while and got called at another window by an american woman this time. She asked me whether I wanted to talk in English ... read complete review
