Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

For my husband's IR-1 visa, we went to the Embassy in Paris at 1p.m., and at the security, they asked us to leave the cell phones there. We got a ticket starting with "A".

The first we were asked to provide the convocation letter, which is P4 letter. then wait for a while.
30 mins later, our number was called and a nice lady asked us whether we wanted to provide new documents, so we provided most updated birth certificate and police record, which we obtained right after we got a CC.
Then she told us that they no longer need a chronopost envelope, but instead, they changed the system to go on the internet to register the mailing address online. So I went down to the room down the stairs and register and printed what she asked us to do. He also got his finger prints there.

Then we waited for another an hour or so and finally our number was called for the interview. The CO was a young lady and asked my husband whether he wanted to do it in Engl... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I arrived half an hour earlier, but we were not allowed in before 12.55. The guards were nice, they took my phone, headphones, keys, and asthma inhaler. I asked if I could keep my inhaler just in case and he gave it back to me.
I took a ticket, sat down and... waited. Bring something to read if you don't want to get bored! At the first desk the French lady took my interview letter. At the second desk, another French lady asked me some question (address, phone number...) and she asked for the DS 260 confirmation. She then warned me that they were experiencing worldwide computer problems coming from DC and that if they can't access my DS 260 I might have to come back a week later. She tried to reassure me and was very nice, said that right now it was still loading but she wanted me to be psychologically prepared! She then took my updated documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, police record), the Chronopost envelope, she asked if I wanted to replace the photo they alr... read complete review

Well, since 2012 all Immigrant Visas aren't dealt on the USA Embassy in Portugal, you have to make extra arrangements to go to Paris, France. (An extra charge on all this also expensive process).

But It ended up being a nice stay as I had my father as my trip companion and this was his first long flight and first time in Paris. I got to show him lot of places, and remember the last time I had been in Paris with my Husband.

So I was very nervous. I barely slept the night before the flight to Paris, and the night before the interview, I was struggling with insomnia.(I stayed 2 days in Paris).

To get to the Embassy I advise to take line 12 of the Metro, and get out on the Concorde, as the embassy is right on the corner of the subway station, though in the end we decided to walk to the Embassy after breakfast.

And then it came the 17th, We decided to make a picnic on the gardens in front of the Embassy. When we arrived, there wer... read complete review

My Fiance's interview went very smoothly. After a short wait, she had about a 5 minute interview, and the visa was issued. Very few questions asked.
