Interview was straightforward -- we checked in 15 minutes before the interview time. There was a basic document check at check-in, then we went into a big room with two lines, one for the pre-interview document check, and the second for the interview itself. The pre-interview document check was straightforward, as was the interview that followed -- just a few questions for Giuditta -- when did you meet your fiancee, what's your job, have you lived anywhere other than France and Italy, what's your fiancé's job, has he lived in France with you. Then the consular officer stamped the application and said, "everything is in order, the visa is approved, you should get your visa in two weeks."

One thing that I hadn't fully grasped is that it's a good thing for the petitioner to come with the applicant. It's not required, and I'm sure Giuditta would have done fine if I hadn't been there. But the consular officer did direct a few questions to me (about my divorces and my ... read complete review

Quelques petites infos utiles:

Had my interview today,

Everything went really well, my appointment was 9.30 and got there early, I was allowed in at around quarter past and everything was really well organize as you can imagine.

First had to do an airport security check before showing my passport and interview letter, they ask me to mull out some documents, DS260, police certificate, passport, medical result.
Then I was invited to get in and they took all electronics from me (cell phone, iwatch ...), then you can finally enter the embassy where i waited to get to the first counter, a french lady asked me all the paper work and took all originals document, she did the biometric (finger print), she was serious and efficient.

After that I was invited to wait on a line where the interview takes place, I was a bit stressed because someone was standing behind the lady consular, I quickly realized that it was only a guy who was training to do the job. She asked me few... read complete review

People at the embassy were very nice, and my interview went well, but I feel there's a general lack of efficiency in communication, which was particularly nerve-wracking.

First, you can't bring your laptop or two mobile phones to the embassy. I now it says so here, but how hard is it to put it on the letters they send you ? I, and several people, had to spend 30mn searching for a hotel that would let us drop our computers for 5 euros. That was very stressful, right before the interview. Then, they said a document that wasn't on the list was missing. Had I known that a few weeks earlier, I wouldn't have had to Fedex it from the US, lost money and time. They simply had checked the wrong box while processing my case.
Last but not least, ten days after my interview, I started calling and e-mailing the embassy, and no one could tell me where my passport was. They kept telling me I was going to receive an e-mail and a tracking number on the AIS website when they had ma... read complete review

My husband's consulate interview went well. There was no wait. They asked to see a few pictures of us together and asked to see the AOS form. The interview date was April 27th, 2016 and they wanted to see the 2015 tax form, so luckily I had rush delivered it to my husband in France (with original signature) as soon as I finished it on April 15, 2016. Glad he had it! Visa was approved, now he is just waiting to get it in the mail, its been 8 days. Hoping for its arrival soon so he can come here!
