Here is my review of the Guayaquil Consulate.
Got there approximately 7:00 AM, Our Interview time was 7:40.
Around 7:30 am we started getting divided into separate lines depending on your schedule time. I noticed the 7:40 am was mostly resident type visas. We got to the first security check point. (DO NOT BRING THE MEDICAL CD). Once inside we went thru the Metal Detector.. (Please listen to the instruction of the guards) some people just don't pay attention and starts arguing with them.
Once inside we sat down on the green chairs. 15 min they called us and the lady told us to give the passport, police certificate, the medical envelope and birth certificate. Then she took my fiancee finger prints, and She asked us some questions like:
When and where did we meet?
When is the Wedding?
and told us to sit down.
1 hour passed and they Called us again for the Real Interview
The American Consul Called us and as... read complete review

I went to the interview with my fiancee, we had an interview scheduled for November 10 at 7:40. We arrived at 7AM. By the time we arrived there were about 15 people in front of us.
They opened the doors and set up a check-in podium at the front of the line by 7:30am. The first thing the lady at the podium said was that if anyone had an appointment at 8AM that they had to go to the back of the line, as they are only letting in the 7:40am appointments first. about 10 people left the line, and at this point the lines were split into two, an immigrant visa and non-immigrant visa line.
We ended up first on the immigrant visa line.
At the security checkpoint we were given a numbered chip that corresponded to the locker space where our cellphones were being held. Passed through security then walked to a desk that was right outside the main room. There we were asked for my fiancee's (beneficiary) passport. We were told to go inside and sit on the g... read complete review

We arrived at the consulate around 6:45am for a 7:40 appointment. My husband and I stood in a line, which already had about fifteen people in it. I was glad we got there early though, because twenty to thirty more people joined the line before the doors were even opened. The officials came out and told the residence visas to form a new line and for the tourist visas to stay in the line they were already in. We were first in the residence line. The officials checked that my husband's (the beneficiary) name was on the list and then asked who I was. I said the spouse. They never asked for evidence before entry of my identity. I was very surprised about this as every time I had been at this consulate, they had requested my passport and the reason why I was there.
We went through security twice (once in the entry building and once in the building where our interview was held). We were told to sit in the green chairs as we were there for residence visas, while the tourists we... read complete review

We got to the Consulate around 6:30am for a 7:40am appointment. There was already a line but I recommend getting there early so that you are relaxed. Plus, there's no traffic that early so the commute is stress free. We went through security, very thorough, then were escorted through a few hallways, received a number, then entered a building toward the back of the compound. Everyone was very friendly and helped us out because, like 90% of the people there, were there for the first time. We sat in the green seats and waited till about 9:00am. We went to a window where they very took out our case, asked for I 134 affidavit of support with job letter, copy of the DS160, the Ecuadorian birth certificate, and the medical envelope but not the CD, you can't bring the CD in the building. We offered more but he said that we had enough. He asked about the year we met and what are civil status was, single obviously. This was done in Spanish as he was simply preparing the case for the Am... read complete review

GETTING THERE & FIRST WAIT
We woke up that day at 5:00 AM, and took a taxi to the consulate at 6:30 AM (was $7 from Alborada/Garzota). It was surprisingly quick - we got there around 6:45 AM; there were already quite a few people there. About 7:10 they started setting up security and setting up inspection tables. When that was done, they started letting people in.
They said tourist visas must have their DS-160 and picture at the gate, but "Resident Visas" (these include K-1) just had to state their name and type of visa, and would present it later on. They checked a spreadsheet and her name was on the list. They crossed it out and let us inside
SECURITY
We went through very rigorous (but very polite) security twice, and they made us empty our pockets and checked every pocket and crevice of our bags and wallets. I had tried to sneak in some nicotine gum (I'm a smoker) and they asked us (politely) to throw it out; same as with s... read complete review
