My husband attended his 601-A waiver/visa interview in Guayaquil, EC. The interviewing officer was very nice. When my husband was questioned about having a certified copy of his divorce decree, the officer allowed him to return the next day, with a pass to go to the head of the line, with a certified copy. It turns out that he did, in fact, have a certified copy already it was just overlooked. All in all, the process at the Embassy was very easy and pleasant.

Very routine. My fiancée from Ecuador had everything she needed, the whole process was smooth as silk.

The consulate has been extremely helpful with my case.
let me explain...
Im an Israeli citizen and for reasons I am too lay to explain I set up my interview in GYQ instead of Jerusalem .
Problem with israeli cases is the police certificate is never given to citizens but sent to the consulate directly
my police certificate was not sent here to Ecuador because the police only delivers within Israel..
The US consulate in Guayaquil were always quick to respond to my emails and phone calls until they finally got a hold of my police certificate by requesting it from the consulate in Jerusalem..
my case got delayed almost 3 weeks after interview because of that hiccup with that paper but if this consulate was as slow as the Jerusalem one i had to deal with i would still be waiting for my visa to be issued .
The interview experience was good. I was stressed because I had no idea what to expect ,but they ba... read complete review

So overall this was a really great experience.
We arrived in the morning at around 6:50 and waited in the wrong line for at least 40 minutes. People kept calling out about how we werent allowed to have cellphones and, wouldn't you know it, my fiance had brought her phone! So we dropped it off with one of the people who stands around outside and charges $3.00 to hold anything that fits into a small black plastic bag. She kept our things safe for over 3 hours! Our appointment was for 7:40 and we got into the correct line at around 7:30. We were the only ones left there because they had already taken care of all of the other Immigrant Visas before we figured out we were in the wrong line.
My fiance and I then waited an additional 20-30 minutes for our line of 1 to be processed. When we got inside they had us take everything out of our pockets and put it into a plastic bin which was x-rayed and then we went through a metal detector. Once we walked down a hallw... read complete review

Hi, I just want to share our interview experience. (We are a same sex couple).
Interview date : September 21, 2016 at 7:40am
As the petitioner I decided to go to Ecuador to be at the interview with my fiance. I think that was the best decision I have ever made. the interview was so hard that I was losing my hope.
We got there around 7:00am (we wait until 8 am outside).
I guy came out and ask the beneficiaries name and then he asked (who are yo) I said the petitioner "we are a couple" then he said ok "go to security with this ticket.
The security lady did not say "Hi or Good morning" she goes like "do you have a cell phone) we said YES she said take them back home and come back. I was like WTF we are going to miss our interview if we do that. (before they used to put the cellphone in a lil box and when you finish the interview they return the phone to you). I called friends to see if they were close by. After a... read complete review
