Our Interview was on 12/16, Here is the review!

We stayed at the Barcelo Santo Domingo. It was a great hotel, I'd highly recommend it. On Monday the 16th we woke up at 3:15 am and began getting ready for the interview, my fiance wanted to take a taxi instead of walk so we left the hotel at 5 am and arrived at the embassy at about 5:05 am. There were about 45 people in front of us.

They began letting people in at 6:30, you must have patience! That hour and a half goes very very slow. At the door they will ask for your interview letter and give you a number, ours was number 94. You then split into males/females to go through security. Once inside you sit on either the left or the right side of the building depending on the type of visa you are applying for.

We sat for about 15 minutes and then our number was called! We were 4th or 5th I think to be called. We went up to window 24 and a nice lady asked for my fiance's forms/passport/... read complete review

Sooo ... I arrived in the Dominican Republic the early day before the interview. We spent the entire day preparing and making sure we had all of our paperwork and evidence ready. The day of the interview, we woke up around 3:00 am, said a payer, and left for the consulate around 3:30 am. We live in a small city like 40 min away from Santiago, so it was about a 2 1/2 hr drive. We arrived a around 5:40 and went quickly to get in line. There were about 70-80 people ahead of us. This made me a little anxious at first, but around 5 minutes after we arrived I could barely see the end of the line con las tantas personas que habian llegado!!!! They started to let us in around 6:10. The guards began letting people in and handing out numbers. We reached the front of the line right away and we were both in by 6:25. We got number 49. About 30 minutes after we were in, we were called to window 16 to turn in all of our documents. The man there looked very nice and kind. He did not speak much, just a... read complete review

-Arrived at 4:50 am. Hardly anyone in line. Went to line #4 against the wall. People started to come about 5:15 am. My suggestion would be to arrive at 5 am.
-6:30 the gates were opened. We handed our appointment letter over and were given a ticket and number. Males and females separated through security.
-Strongly suggest bringing snacks and drinks. Caferteria opens at 8 am and the line is long.
-At 7:10 am we were called to window #16. While we brought lots of paperwork, only the following were taken. Just one copy of each: DS 156, DS 156K, D 230 (Part 1 only). Also gave birth certificate, police letter, cedula and passport. All other items were returned!
-We then went to window #14 to pay the USD $80 and back to window #16 to show the receipt. A pamphlet was given to my fiancee explaining domestic violence in the USA.
-At 8:50 am we were called to window #15 to process her finger prints. They asked for her appointment letter but we had already give... read complete review

Ok here is my review! The interview process itself was a piece of cake but my God getting him in the building almost killed us!!

We stayed at Barcelo Santo Domingo which is 3 blocks from the consulate. I was able to get the room for free for 2 nights with air miles! Beautiful hotel for those who are going to spend time in Santo Domingo!

We left the hotel at 5 am and got there walking slowly at 5:15. We had gone the night before to scope out the area so we knew exactly where it was and where we needed to be. The buscones of course tried to get us to buy photos we didn't need and such. They started letting people in at 6:30 and when we passed through security they found headphones in my fiancee's backpack that he had forgotten were in there so he had to go out and have the buscones hold them. But once you leave security you have to go TO THE BACK OF THE LINE!!! By then there were probably a thousand people in line spit took him over an hour to get i... read complete review

n nov 25th 2013 me and my Dominican fiance had our interview for her K1 Visa.
We arrived at the embassy at 4am and waited in line until 6:30am which was when they handed out tickets. We were ticket number 40.

We were called to window 21 to hand in all our forms. DS156, DS156K, DS-230 PART 1.(I didnt do DS-230 part 2)And I-134. And all banco popular receipts at around 8:30am.

next we went to window 14 to pay the $80 fee for the remaining cost of the visa at 9:45am.

At 11:20am we were finally called to window 27 for our interview.
the interviewer asked what language we want the interview in. I said english for myself and spanish for my fiance.

questions for me the petitioner:
1. How did we meet?
2.where do i work?
3. how long have i been working at my Job?
4. How do i communicate with my fiance? (he thought my fiance can only speak spanish but she speaks english also)
5. How many ... read complete review
