First i want to thank everyone on vj for your help and encouragement, it has been a blessing! We stayed at a new hotel in the area called Hostal San Fransisco De Asis. It was pretty nice, and my fiance got to take his first hot shower....lol. We got up at 3 am got ready and checked out. We made it to the consulate at 4:30am. There were a few people in line already. We got out of the vehicle and the buscones were in our face! Saying that the photos needed to be stapled, and if not they were going to send us outside, but i told my fiance not to pay attention, they just want money. They were also telling us that the photos had to be bigger than 2x2. The ones we had were just fine. We waited in line painfully till 6:30am then they finally let everyone inside. I didnt have a purse or electronics so i went right through the line. I do want to let you know that the fiance visas there are called "visa de residencia" so you will sit near the cafeteria. We were given #102...which they dont call... read complete review

We arrive in Santo Domingo the night before the interview, we stayed on Jardines del Teatro as recommended on this site very friendly staff and room are clean and inexpensive. Woke up at 4:30am, arrived at consulate at 5:15am there was a line of about 40 people already no bucones thank God. Around 6:15am the line started to move, in the building by 6:50am. we were called to the first window 24 by 7:10am, were told that we needed to fix our DS260 since it did not show my husband middle name (system error, since I had a print out of my submission) the very nice lady told us to go out to an internet center and fix it and comeback to window 16. We walk to a center around the corner and had a little problem login into my husband case, immigration system was not recognizing server. We solved the problem and paid RD 400.00 pesos. Went back to the consulate and enter with no problem, at window 16 a Stuck up lady was trying to give us a hard time until the previous lady came and told her th... read complete review

First off I want to start by thanking GodsGift and Sarys you both provided a lot of guidance and helpful advice. As well as the entire DR Crew that provided reviews which were extremely beneficial for me! Any of those who would message me and give me support! Once I was there I felt like I knew every move that would come next and that feeling at that specific moment is priceless!

I arrived to DR 2/1, three days prior to the interview. Everything was pretty much done so I figured we would take these days to relax and enjoy ourselves. We did....I glanced at all the paperwork my fiance provided the banco popular receipts caught my attention for a bit and I did some math trying to figure out the totals but thought nothing of it...hahaha (you will understand my smirk in a few).

Monday night came, I tried to have dinner and could not! My man did, I tried to sleep and could not! He did not either but because I didn't let him lol! We studied questions that night... read complete review
