Since we had a cita, although we got there "late" at 6:25am we were still let in immediately. Since I had our baby with me, I was put ahead of the line and sat before my fiancé. At 7am they started calling numbers.
Our interview was quick and she asked me most of the Qs in English .
Where was I born
What did I do
How we met
When
Where our families lived
Baby certificate
How many times I had traveled to DR since meeting
Asked him:
What did I do
When the baby was born
Where
Who was with me in labor
Who I lived with
What my mom did
What my sisters did
Pictures and baby birth certificate .
Approved it and we paid Domex and left.
We were not asked for the I-134 and weren't told to pay the famous $80. I think that once you pay all the impuesto at banco popular your set .
We had the help of a la... read complete review

First I want to give thanks to ilovemyman, MrTee and all VJ members you were great and I know you'll help me continue my K-1 journey
I arrived at the embassy at 5:35am, my interview was at 6:45am. Get on the NIV/IV line it's the same line, the ACS line is for tourist visas. At 6:30am the line started to move, we had to show our interview letter to the worker, who stamped us with a ticket with the same number (148). before we went in another worker took our interview letter and gave us the bottom number(they both were the same #148)
Ladies where separated from the men until we passed security and got together. We got in at 7:20am. We sat down and waited for about 1 hour and 20 minutes and were called to window #20 to give her passport, form DS-160, acto de buena conducta, birth certificate, passport photos, banco popular receipts. He then told us go to window #14 and pay the $80 and bring him the receipt. We paid, we sat down for 30 minutes and we... read complete review

Since the beginning, the process has been very easy and fast. It wasn't until the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo received our documents that the hassle started. We had been waiting for more than 2 months for the "packet" with instructions for the day of the interview to arrive. After various phone calls, I came to find out that the packet had been mailed out in December and it wasn't until March 7th that we finally received it javascript:emoticon(' '). All the anxiousness was not making life any easier but at the very least it was enough time to gather all the documents they are requesting. I hope our interview is a breeze!javascript:emoticon(' ')

Sorry for the delayed posting. Our interview was on 2/13/14 and here’s our review…
We decided it would be best to arrive the night before our interview and stayed at the Jardines del Teatro. Although the accommodations were modest, the rate was very economical and the location (it's literally steps ways from the Consulate) is just priceless. In the morning at around 5am, while I was getting ready my fiancé decided to go and see if a line was already forming and when he returned he told me that there were 27 people in line. By the time we left the hotel at around 5:30 am and walked over, there were over 100 people in line!
When you get there, you want to get in the line marked "IV" which I guess stands for immigrant visa and then you need to be really patient and wear comfortable shoes because the wait feels endless. Not sure when the doors actually opened but the line started to move quickly at around 6:20 but then stalled numerous times. During this ... read complete review
