So i figured i would write this while it is still fresh in my memory.

Our cita was at 6:45am and we arrived around 6:15. I did not see any buscones outside but my fiancée did, regardless there were not many or they were hiding from the security outside the embassy.

My Spanish is not very good, my fiancée and i speak in Spanglish so it was good that she went to the front of the line to speak with a person holding a radio and directing people through the entry gate and into the security scan zone. Within 5 minutes after being dropped off by a taxi (we stayed at her house the night before in Santo Domingo Este) we were going through security.

To expedite this process a little you can avoid bringing purses and jewelry - anything metal with make them have to scan you twice. After getting through security (it is just a small building separate from the main part of the embassy where the interviews are held) we were directed to sit on the benche... read complete review

Process for waiting to be interviewed was somewhat uncomfortable. We arrived at 5:30AM, to find a line 1 block long. In addition, despite the numbers being handed out, those numbers have no relevance on how a person is called (at least not to those in the waiting room). For those who have never been through the process, the wait to be called is very disconcerting. You will be called 3 or 4 times (but no one tells you this). Needless to say, it is very relieving to know your visa is approved. No one tells you either how long it will be to actually receive your passport back in order to buy your plane ticket. One more item of note, If you live anywhere else on the island besides Santo Domingo, the wait is even worse, especially if you have to visit the consulate in person for documents never recieved, for information never clearly stated on the documents they provide you. My wife (now), had to go to the consulate twice, because of a lack of information and poor postal system. Th... read complete review

Some disorganization, but the new facility helps to streamline the experience of going to the interview. We were there for 4+ hours, and the interview at the end was only 10 minutes. I was surprised to discover that the interview was with the two of us together, and they did not ask for additional evidence of an ongoing relationship or want the affidavit of support. So, although we were prepared for anything, it turned out to be so much easier than we had anticipated.

We got there like at 5:30am, they started letting us in like at 6:40. Stay to the right the lines form there and when it starts moving there is no real order.

We got lucky number 125, who ever gets through security first just go get number in the building on your left. You can go back out once you have number. We got called First to window 4, young Hispanic man asked for MC, BC, AOS documents(we were expedited so they didn't have these documents) and Dos 260 confirmation. He returned all my income tax transcripts and only I864z. He asked us what language we wanted interview, if my husband or I had children, if we have been previously married and if I had ever portioned anyone else.

My husband was then called by his Name to window 1 for fingerprinting. I went with him pratically pressed his hand down for him.

We then waited like until like 10:30am to be called to window 26 by the same number 125.
