Okay. Just like everyone else who interviewed in Santo Domingo my experience was very similar. We arrived at 4:45 am and there was a line with at least 25 people in it. There was many people offering assistance but these people do not work for the embassy. However you may find there services for things like use of computer and printer very useful if you run into a situation like we did. But anyway, they opened the doors around 7:00. If you interview is scheduled for 6:45 you be let in after people with children and or wheelchairs. Then you will go thru a metal detector, walking thru a huge yard and enter another door where you will get a ticket with a number, similar to the ones you get at the DMV in the US. There are many windows so the numbers get called quickly. We was number 147 and was called at about 9:00. We submitted the DS160, medical papers and birth certificate of my fiancé. They ask nothing from me. Our problem occurred at this time because we did not have a DS160 ... read complete review

I apologize in advance for lengthy review but I hope this helps you out during your interview. Our appointment was scheduled for 11/25 at 645am and we arrived at 530am. We parked at a paid parking lot 1/2 block away ($300DOP/$7USD) There were already about 50 people on line. There are 3 lines for immigrant visa, 1 for tourist visa, 1 for other. The "buscones" people not working for consulate are there "helping" you line up or offering to hold your belongings and give you a ticket. You cannot take makeup, liquids, cigarettes, cell phones. I left my lipstick with them knowing I wouldn't get it back - they weren't even outside when I left. No one explains the order for the 3 immigrant visa lines until right before they open the doors and then you are scrambling to change lines and lose your order online. The first line (right side) was for the 6-7am appts and the others for 8 and 9 am. Once doors open, the line moves pretty quickly. You put your items through scanner and walk through ... read complete review

Hi.
I didn't plan on leaving a review but after our experience I thought I would in case this would help anyone else.
Our interview was Nov. 18th at 645am. We arrived at 6am and there were many people already in line. There are many buscuns or w/e they call them telling you you need this and you need that. I told my hubby that from reviews on VJ and from others NOT to listen to them. Besides, this is the US Embassy. If we needed something else don't you think they would have told us?
I don't understand why people want to listen to this people dressed in ragged clothes looking all homeless yet everyone wants to believe them. I had to BEG my hubby to listen to me and not them. I think people are just nervous and just do it but it was pissing me off. They just kept standing near u trying to look at your papers and tell u what u need. "No! Leave us alone. We are fine. You do not work for the embassy so i am not going to listen to you." …they ... read complete review

F. Photos of both of my trips
G. Emails, phone calls, and chats from the time of the NOA2 to present.
Questions asked to my fiancé.
1. How did we meet?
2. How often we talk,.
3. Where does his family live and if mother and father are still married.
4. Does he have family in US.

We had our interview at 6:15am on 10/22/14. We got there about 5:30am and immediately got in line. Once they starting letting people in we got in pretty fast. We got thru security and got our number in like 10 minutes. Then we began our wait. Maybe about an hour later we got called to the first window. The lady was very nice and asked for my fiance's documents and asked a few questions. Then she sent us to get his fingerprints. After that we took a seat and waited about another hour before it was time for our interview. That office was very nice and friendly. She had us swear in and then asked a few questions, mostly to my fiance. She spoke to us in english and spanish. It lasted myabe 10 minutes and she didn't ask for anything! I was nervous that we needed more and it turns out we didn't need any of it lol We were in and out in about 3 hours. Everyone was very friendly and it was faster than I thought it would be. So happy to have gotten that part over!
